Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power Rough 16L- Just played great. Awesome string, but I can't recall on tensions loss, but all I know was that it played REALLY good, but the price is a killer :/.
Luxilon Big Banger Timo 122 17G Tennis String- Never used
Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power 16L (silver)- Hated it. I played like crap with it when I first used it. Should I re-order and try it out again?
Luxilon Big Banger Original 16G- Same as ALU Rough, but it didn't give as much spin as the Rough, but more control.
Pacific PolyForce Xtreme 16L Tennis String- Never used
Tecnifibre Pro Red Code 17G Tennis String- Never used
Weisscannon Silverstring 1.20- Never used
MSV Focus Hex 1.23- Used once for like 5 mins. Played really elastic, and it played pretty good IMO.
Pacific PolyForce 17G- Fantastic string, but I wish it gave more spin. The sleek coating sorta takes that spi potential away though :/.
Unique Big Hitter 17G- Never used
Topspin Cyberflash 17G- Use to use often, but it's been a while. I can remember very good spin, and a lot of power. Control was pretty good too, but that's all I can remember.
Kirschbaum Competition 17G- Used it on my friend's racquet, but he strung it really low on an nBlade, and I hated it. Should I try it out again?

Big list of top polys, both expensive and cheap. I just need some suggestions as to really shorten this. I've been debating on which ones to get and try out as they all look appealing. I know I've already tried some of them out, but I'm debating on whether to get them again to refresh myself on how they play.

What I'm looking for: Above average spin, and controllable power (What I mean by this would be the way Luxilon plays. they give good power, but the strings have a dead feeling and drops the ball in). A crisp (good pop), solid feel on contact. Comfort isn't a huge issue, but I don't want it to be the most comfortable thing in the world, but at the same time, I don't want my arm to fall off. Control is a biggie, as I'll provide all the power. I've written what i can remember about the strings on the list, but it has been so long since I've last used full poly, I don't know what to expect anymore. If you could help me narrow down this list, it would be greatly appreciated!

A little too soft don't you think K? I tried it in a hybrid with Gosen crosses too, but it didn't give me any spin at all :/.

Hmmm I found crazy amounts of spin with that string...maybe you should give the micro version a shot?? I believe its 1.18...if that won't help out your spin I don't know what will...

Maybe if my arm starts to break down, but I don't really like soft polys, it gets too mushy. If it's a synthgut, multi, or gut, then I would prefer that crisp, soft feel. But not for poly. You still using Cyberflash or you using Big Ace now?

Forget Pro Supex u get what u pay for. Pacific Poly Force plays like Timo so u wont like that. pacific xtreme is sick. im going to try red code soon. i hated kirschbaum but not sure which one I used. Luxilon dies too quick so its not worth the money. all in all everyones different so what someone else might like u might hate or what everyone else hates u might love. Tell us how it goes

red code felt harsh on high stiffness racquets, but it was just right on flexier racquets.

your missing what i would say is way better than all of these strings( i tried all these btw) LUXILON ACE!!!!!! definatly the best great power spin and has the feel of a multi

A bit thin don't you think? Even though it is poly, I would probably break it pretty quickly.

Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power Rough 16L
Luxilon Big Banger Timo 122 17G
Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power 16L
Luxilon Big Banger Original 16G
Pacific PolyForce Xtreme 16L
Tecnifibre Pro Red Code 17G
Weisscannon Silverstring 1.20
Pacific PolyForce 17G
Topspin Cyberflash 17G
These are the better strings in your list.
Spin:BBO
Power:Alu
Comfort:Silverstring
Tension Maintenance:Pacific PolyForce, Weisscannon Silverstring, Pacific PolyForce Xtreme, Tecnifibre Pro Red Code
Control:Red Code
So you can pretty much narrow it down to what you like. I have never tried the timo. I would also string the red code 2-3lbs looser than the others.

Try the Kirschbaum Proline 2, one of the best string for spin and power.

So, you're saying CF is pretty good at everything. And in reels, it's the cheapest string in your list, so why are you looking any further?

Well I said that about a couple of other strings too. I'm looking to try out again, and am just giving some info I can remember. Looking to try out other things to see which one fits my game the best.

Also, I'm thinking about ordering:
ALU Rough 16L
BB Original 16g
Pro Red Code 17g
Weisscannon SS (1.20)
And I can ask a friend if I can use a set of cyberflash off his reel. Should I add something else?

if you like ALU so much, you definitely should consider 16 gauge cyberflash. it plays very similar to alu power, but not nearly as well.

with alu, even at somewhat slow swingspeeds, you can still get the luxilon shot, where it drops in when it really shouldnt. cyberflash does this to an extent, but isnt nearly as successful as real lux at it.

but cyberflash is definitely worth its price, and more

Try the Kirschbaum Proline 2, one of the best string for spin and power.

i gotta second Fedace on this one. Proline 2 is what our coach gets us and its one of the first polys i've actually liked in a full string job. its got the good spin ablility and stiffness polys that poly gives, but doesnt have the harsh feeling like i got from the redcode we had last year.

There are a couple of in depth threads that cover this topic. See the JollyRoger guide to strings and Nick's review of polys. It all there.

I noticed no one discussed a string on your list - Unique Poly Big Hitter 17. I switch from PSG original and I love this string. It is a realitive soft poly string and strings up pretty easy. Also, I found that I got much more spin vs the PSG and control has stepped up. It has also held tenison well. With a price that's half or more of Luxilon, it's worth a look.
