I've noticed I serve very differently than most people I play. I'm not just talking about technique either. I don't know why, but I naturally either put tons of spin on it (reverse twist serve). Or I put alot of power into it, but at a very low or very high angle. So I was wondering about anyone else who does this, and opponent's reactions to them.

I try to not make my serve - my point maker; to be honest, I only get lucky on my serves in my game since I haven't really worked on it. Usually, it's a winner down the line/crosscourt or a drop shot.
not yet it isn't... I am working on it though.

To be truthfull I've just realized how to make my serve good. But I still need work on my return and net work

My volleying game is actually the strongest part of my game, but I revolve my entire strategy around my serve, yes.

^^ My volleys are my best shots too..
To answer the OP... Nope my serve is not a weapon and I put way too much spin on it too. I just hate to hit a second serve.
The good thing is my opponents get most of my serves back and I get to practice my volleys, and my volleys improve constantly.
The bad thing is my opponents get most of my serves back. :)
For doubles I use 2 - 3/4 pace kick serves which works fine.
Same strategy would get me killed in singles. :) .
So in singles, I serve & volley only on first serve, and sometimes second serves.

my serve used to be bad cus my old coach taught the motion differently to my new coach but then i changed coach and now my serve is a weapon since his motion he taught and the positioning worked for me

Does anyone do a backspin serve or has attempted this serve:

I can do them, but they're not as effective for me. I can't get the same jump as expected from the ball. But I do love to try different spins.

Oh cool. I love the kick and twist, but for some reason I can't do slice anymore.

sometimes my weapon is my return serve. I tend to do a lot of topspin month ago and just found out its bad for your arm doing that so I start serving more flat.
