Just to be clear, Kevlar is a registered trademark of DuPont (kinda like Frisbee, Kleenex or Xerox). The actual term for the material is 'Aramid Fiber' (or a variant of that).

For example, Gamma sells 'Power Play', which is a "Multifilament Resilyamid™/PEEK/Resilyalon™ Composite with Pearl coating", but, in reality, its a coated Kevlar/Aramid Fiber.

I use 17 gauge kevlar and it lasts for months. Poly will last long, but it looses so much tension that it's useless after a week or two.

I used Prince ProBlend for longevity before I bought my own stringer. Add some string savers and your string job will last long enough to make you feel like you are hitting the ball with a wooden board.
