I bought a replacement grip (wilson [K]ontrol) and I never received one of those. I'm interested in one as well. i know for certain that HEAD and Dunlop has them, not too certain about wilson. it probably reduces frame vibration

No it does not. It just helps keep things neat at the top of the grip. No funny ends of tape or grip can be seen. I personally hate them, I throw them out as soon as I get a racquet.

I use them to hold the end of my Tourna grip. Works well, and I don't have to deal with peeling off any tapes.

You don't need one but it is nice to have one. If I am right, all Babolat racquets come with it. At least the APDCs and Pure Storm Ltds. come with one.

I call them grip bands and the last ones I bought came off the Unique Sports site. I have never seen them listed on TW.

That's finishing tape for securing the replacement grip to the racquet. I believe the OP is referring to the black "rubberband" (typically has the racquet's logo on it) that covers the finishing tape. I think I saw it referred to as a "collar" in a thread somewhere.

Just do a search for "Unique Grip Band" in quotes and you will find them on many sites. Looks like they come in 2 packs for less than $2.

Here is one link for example: http://www.amazon.com/Unique-Grip-Band-Accessories/dp/B00124KUB2

When I started to use one of those rubber collars on my grip, I actually went from a 3.0 to a shaky 3.5! When I applied two of them on the same grip, I became a pretty strong 4.5 with some amazing drop volleys.

I recommend getting two at a time if you want to maximize your improvement.

Wow a whole thread wasted for this. My local pro shop has a bucket of them sitting on the counter in case any one wants one. I personally cut them off of all my frames. I wrap my overgrip past the regular grip so this thing just gets in the way.

I think they are called grip finishing rings or finish tape rings. There is a tub of 60 for sale on the bay:
