However, his results say #1 in the world

If that is a 5.5 or 6.0, then I must be Nadal. This guy would get crushed by the 4.0 players in my area.

Look at the way he hits most of his forehands from the back foot. I'd say he's no better than a 4.0.

I only looked at the first 6 seconds and I had seen enough.
No energy.
Doesn't run after balls not hit to him.
No split step.
he must be a nightmare on his highschool team. This guys attitude is poison to a locker room, and the cohesion of a team.

3.0 at best. Doesn't bend his knees, looks very stiff. He even missed an easy forehand.

Very wristy, muscles the ball too much, would definately get crushed in my local 3.5-4.5 leauge. Not enough point play to rate him accurately, but I would put him at around a strong 3.0.

You are being very generous Rickson. It took years to get to 4.0, I just don't see it in this kid.
TonLars
10-29-2008, 08:36 AM
I dont know guys, I think this kid could be the next big thing. His grip to me is too extreme, and he obviously needs to work on his foot work and quickness ALOT. But if he can do that then I think he could maybe play some college tennis somewhere. Right now... floating around 3.5, 4.0 at best.

She appears uncomfortable moving on the clay probably because she's never really played on it or learned to slide.

He should consider some other sports. He's not capable of playing at a competitive level in tennis.

Horrible footwork, pretty obvious this guy never played clay before. He's probably a 3.5, but if he switches racket to the K90 he *maybe* can be a 4.0.
You can also clearly see that his ball has no pace.

Sadly, if nadal went to take a lesson at a local tennis club with a typical pro he would be scolded and told the following tennis tips:
Hardly any footwork. no bouncing steps, no "happy" feet.
so far behind the baseline, not attacking, always playing "defence"
not stepping in or transfering much weight
looks so lazy, no knee bend...lack of intensity
doesn't really "watch the ball into his racket"
not hitting "through the ball or extending through contact"
hitting off the "back foot" and "leaning back"
Using all "arm" on the stroke. Not using the body to generate power..
Hot Sauce

Solid 3.5, maybe a low 4.0. His footwork needs work.

i think the o.p is prob quite accurate in the title, possibly 5.5, could play #4 singles on my high school team; the #1 & #2 on my team are rated 6.0. i might be able to reach his level with enough practice over summer; i'm a 5.0, started playing last year!
p.s: i am 17 yrs old, 5.0 level after one year of training, do you think i can still turn pro?

Not much hope here.
Also, its possible that he has some injury that makes him completely unable to move. Looks like he has knee problems. He obviously has no hope of moving well, so he should try ckeckers.

I actually think she's ok. Her forehand looks erratic, she probably makes a lot of UE on that side. She also needs to work on her footwork, you can tell she's real slow. 3.5, but she wouldn't take a game from me 6-0, 6-0.

Besides - the girl in that vid isn't Nadal. Sure, a Nadal wannabe of course, and entitled the vid 'Nadal' ---whatever, anybody can do that. She has no skills, takes muscle enhancing drugs, muscles the ball, etc and would lose in most 3.5 leauge play.
