How far into the court ( distance from baseline) should the ball toss be for flat, slice and topspin serves, in general. I'm trying to toss further into the court to get more movement forward at contact time, but it's hard for me to do. I'm constantly worrying about a foot fault. Help !

Conventionally, the flat serve is about tossed about 2 feet into the court, and slice about a foot, and the topspin overhead (at the service line). Some better players hit the topspin more agressively and use better deception by moving their hips under a ball that is tossed similarly to a flat serve. However, I would not worry about deception unless you are pretty high level player.

Fixed.
I generally have my tosses landing between a foot and two feet into the court depending on what serve I'm hitting. Even topspin serves aren't landing on the baseline for me.
But of course ,that's just me... and I'm not good at tennis. -_-
