Just got my first issue today. I already read half of the articles on tennis.com and the other half was un-interesting stuff. Tennis magazine is short and consists mostly of ads and pictures.

Well nobody I knows actually subscribes to it. It is free with USTA membership or else I wouldn't even bother with it. :)

Also, after you've subscribed for about a year, you'll notice that they discuss the same subjects over and over again. I guess they have to. There are alot of pictures, and it doesn't take long to read one from cover to cover.

And here I thought TENNIS was so long past it that there would be no expectation whatsoever.

Tennis Magazine has always been an inferior product.
Back in the day - 25 years ago or so - it was inferior to World Tennis.
Although World Tennis always had fewer pages than Tennis Magazine, it also always had better content.
That said, Tennis Magazine was better back then than it is now.
Seems that Chrissie turned it into a gossip rag for teens - long on style, short on substance.

I usually get it at the airport before a departure.
Then by the time I get through anything of substance, I've found my gate.

some articles are interesting but most of the magazine are ads.

i used to subscribe to tennis during the sampras/agassi/rafter era. it used to be mildly interesting then. based on what i read on line now, it's lame.

Storm- Can't believe it takes you that long....must be a pretty small airport!

I'm a subscriber too for 3-4 years, but i won't renew it. Here in Greece, it's 50 dollars a year!!! I'm looking for an English tennis magazine. If anyone knows something, please let me now...

Tennis Week WAS a lot better, and then they re-did it. Now it sucks.
Oui, c'est moi.

Can you get ACE Tennis magazine over there?

It's enjoyable to read. I much prefer it to the US one.

I've gotten it for 25 years or so and it was much better years ago. I am also looking for an alternative. It is a very weak publication.

there's also SMASH magazine that i used to have a subscription to. it was mostly a "fun" magazine to read, with jokes and crazy designs and stuff

Deuce said it best, it's for teens who like pictures and gossip.
Well, the world has changed (scores and reporting on the web), and so has print media. Tennis Magazine is a rag now, but I don't entirely blame Chris Evert, but I'd like to.
World Tennis was good.
I used to love Tennis Week, but, besides Richard Evans' articles, it's gotten really glossy and weak.
Anyone remember Racquet magazine? At least it had great photography.
DO you guys like Deuce, the ATP's magazine?
What about Inside Tennis (out of CA)? Tennis Life?

They misreported the news.
"Jelena Jankovic, who won the U.S. Open, already is No. 1 on the women’s side, a spot that compatriot Ana Ivanovic, the French Open winner, held earlier in the year before slipping to fifth."
