I'm asking my girlfriend for an electric toothbrush for Christmas this year. I want one that works great, comes with great reviews and takes up very little counter space.

suggestions please. makes and models? in the $70-80 range.

I like Oral B Triumph. It's like brushing and flossing at the same time.

My dentist (and one of my best friends) recommends the Sonicare. According to her, it is the only model that will clean between when you are not flossing.

I have a SonicCare 5700 or 5800, I love it. Amazon has it for your price range and free shipping.

My dentist noticed an improvement right away when I which to a SonicCare over 10years ago (this is my 3rd one in 10years).

The battery slowly dies out in about 3-4years, but replacing one ever 3-4years I think is very reasonable.

I use the SonicCare 9000 series. Don't know if there's any improvement, but feels great after each brush.

Don't bother wasting your $ on an electric unless you buy a Sonicare. Also, you have to replace the brush every 4 months or so to achieve excellent results...not only do the bristles wear out but more importantly the vibration coupling degrades as well.

i use one, wrapped in tournagrip and leaded at the buttcap, perfect, atleast for my hard court bathroomtiles surface, don`t know about clay though...
