Hey tehre
does anyone know how can i find practice partners?
I had 3 but one moved away another is too lazy and never plays anymore and another one is too lazy as well and doesnt like to play in summer which is the season now in Australia.
Now i havent been able to practice with a person for like more than 7 weeks and i feel absolutely depressed. All i could do is practice with a wall in my house and throw the ball up and try to hit a shot from the bounce which is very retar*ed in my opinion and i feel silly doing it over and over.
Anyone got tips of how to get partners? and no my local club only do lessons and does not find partner or have a record of partners for u.
oh btw we cant get a coach right now as well! cus he's filled up with the times.

you can teach someone, and they could get good in about a year.. invest in a really good ball machine ones that can actually play points.

I had the same problem because of my work schedule. I tried the USTA website but had little success. I placed an ad on craiglist/activities and found a few people to hit with. My advice is place to place an ad in a major online social website or go to the parks and just hit around with people.

try to search for some tennis clinics, buy a ball machine, post ads on social websites, enter in tennis tournaments. I highly suggest stop using the wall, because it can really mess up your form. the only thing , IMO, that you can really do without a ball machine or a tennis partner, would be practicing serving.

When I started playing tennis, I had the same problem as you do. Then I posted ads in local tennis BBS and quickly found a few regular hitting partners. I keep at least 3 hitting pratners in my phone book so I can always play tennis when I want to.
I also found that I tend to try harder with a new tennis pratner and that is when I improve more.
I even found a significant better hitting partner who is willing to hit with me for free. I do bring the balls, clean the court and run around to pick up the balls though.

To the OP, have you tried Tennis Australia's website, tennis.com.au, where they have a 'Help me find a tennis partner' database? You may also want to register for that database and someone might call you.
