The San Francisco Tennis Club, in the city, has 12 indoor courts. Closer to you, in Redwood City, the Pacific Athletic Club has a few indoor courts.

The Sports Club in Fremont has an indoor court. I've been trying to hook-up with a member but can't find one yet. Membership is very expensive.

If I won the lottery, the powerball and bit the 300 million jackpot, I'd build
3 indoor courts, one hard, one clay, and one grass, I'd have an architect design the clay and grass ones with clear plastic walls or something to let the light in.l

It's good to dream.

How much is the membership at the decathlon club?

Decathlon Club is sweet. We had the Grand Prix there this year. Of course it rained, but that's another story.

SFTC is a great place, but a bit pricey. I play out of Golden Gate Park, which is normally great other than the winter with the rain. You can get reservations there and it's only $6 for 1.5 hours. Can't beat it in the city.

Would you happen to know how much the membership is at the SF Tennis Club? I'll be moving to SF soon, and I'd rather not sit thru a membership pitch there if it's country-club-like rates.

The only south bay indoor courts I know of are at ********* Athletic Club, Los Gatos. (85 and Winchester). They have 3 indoor, and something like 15 or 20 outdoor courts. They also have nice pools (adult only and family) and good workout facilities. No idea how expensive, I've only played there against their interclub and USTA teams.

Sorry, had no idea the name of that club was a dirty word. (Those the ladies on our teams will get a kick out of it.) Begins with a "C".

I don't know what "country club" rates are ... I think SFTC is a decent value for money, since there's tennis (outdoor courts no extra cost, but you gotta pay for court time inside) + a good gym and other facilities, plus, most importantly, parking. Give them a call when you move. The membership pitch is pretty low key, and it's worth it to stop by to see what they actually offer in person.

Clubsport in Fremont has 5 indoor courts and 3 outdoor. I think membership is about $120/month. It's pretty nice, they have dop playing and are pretty involved with USTA leagues. I forgot to mention they are more than jsut a tennis club, they have swimming, weights, basketball courts, raquet and squash courts and of course all the aerobics classes ect.
