Por-Kennex pro 5g vs 7g

Hi,

I hit with the 5g over the weekend and really like it. It has a nice
combination of power and control. There is only one problem with
it - it's hard to generate enough top-spin on my second serve. Is the 7g better in terms of spin potential? I also found the
slice is less effective than my ROK.

Can somebody tell me what are the main differences between 5g
and 7g?

Use them both. For me, 7g works best from baseline. Feels clumsy at the net. Good for serving. 5g is a very good S&V stick, more manuverable. Initially didn't serve as well as the 7g, but now I like it better. If you value manuvearability, go 5g. Given a choice, I always choose the 5g. IMHO, it is one of the best all around racquets on the market. It and the Slaz PBH are my main weapons these days.

The wider beam may be affecting your slice. Once you use it for awhile you'll find it can generate good slice.

The 7g is 1/2" longer, therefore has a higher swingweight. Also, it is a little stiffer. For a baseliner with long strokes, it can produce more power. I use the 5g. To get more spin, use thinner strings. I use a natural gut hybrid, and I use a moderate amount of topspin (not as much as those guys with western grips). It's a good, solid frame.
