I can do that vs a wall!

Seth_k180
12-28-2008, 03:05 PM
well yeah its vs a wall
but thats just an example
what if it was person vs person returning a 238 mph shot
and they were going at it making an average forehand shot 200 mph
the wall is just an example its not just how tennis is going to be played

OK GUYS LOOK AT THIS VIDEO

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbyevts3qw0

YOU SEE HOW RODGER HITS THE BALL WITH HIS NEW RACKET TO NOTHING
WHY IS HE DOING THAT YOU MIGHT ASK
ITS BECAUSE HES DEMOING THE RACKET

DO YOU PEOPLE LOOK AT THAT AND SAY "WOW WILSON MADE A RACKET THAT LIKES TO HIT THE BALL TO NOTHING" NOOOO

ITS A FREAKEN DEMO JUST LIKE THE FUTURE VIDEO
ITS NOT RACKETBALL, ITS NOT JUST HITTING THE WALL
THEY JUST WANT TO SHOW HOW PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE IN THE FUTURE
THEY WILL PLAY TENNIS WITH TWO PEOPLE JUST LIKE REGULAR TENNIS

I JUST WANTED TO GET PEOPLE THINKING HOW TENNIS WILL BE LIKE IN 75 YEARS,

IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THIS THEN HOW WILL TENNIS BE LIKE IN 75 YEARS

hopefully, relatively recognizable to what it is today. Don't you think it's in a pretty good place right now?

but why do you have to be so closed minded
it was just a thought and you're all just ridiculing it
and besides the video is like a demo

besides i cant take this crap anymore
i just want to give an idea
and your all being mean about it

i think it is in a good place
its just so intresting to see technology advancing in tennis
serving 238 mph

its like right now yeah were good with skateboards
but wouldn't be awesome if we had hover boards

the lacoste video actually does look like racquetball... you don't need to get heated up. on another note... Roger Federer isn't hitting the ball to nothing, they just don't show it. ;) calm down man.

lol he freaked when you guys suggested the lacoste video was like racquetball

that's great. but tennis won't be like that. i think tech wise, we've hit the limit on what a person can handle. from here on out, it will just be string and ball improvement (IMHO)

how so?

It's not fun anymore because you will be relying on the computer (the helmet he's wearing) to tell you where the ball is, instead of using our own coordination. You really think that it would be fun if each ball coming at you will be at 200+ mph? Can you even react to it? You will not even have time to prepare your swing as the ball is hauling-*** toward you.

What kind of strings is he using?

laser strings???

Btw i like the tennis rackets as they are i dont want some mechanicle junk like the crap they have in that clip. like anyone will beable to serve at 238mph. maybe they think rackets like in the vid will help you serve 100mph more than you already do. the racket had some sort of laser strings which would be impossible to paly with and the ball looked like a bit of plastic mixed with metal but it did look pretty cool.

i do think however that they're going to use electronic line calling in the future. remove human error completely.

Notice how the guy seems to be somewhat ambiguous in the "lower" regions - such a tight outfit should reveal more of a bulge, no?

in the future, sex, as well as racquet strings and hitting partners, as well as using the bathroom, will be obsolete. duh. ;)

I wouldn't mind the bathroom becoming obsolete. But I hope it is not through "recycling."

Strings do need to become obsolete. Strings and balls are the main recurring expenditure for a tennis player. I propose research into a new membrane-like material engineered at the nano level. It will be like a drumming surface, slightly trampoliny. I am sure the technology exists today, but companies want us to keep spending money (like shaving blades and toothbrushes). You expect me to believe they cannot produce a toothbrush with bristles which do not get frayed? It is all a giant conspiracy I tell you.

A permanent membrane which never loses tension or goes "dead." And balls made of materials which do not leak air and which do not have their surface destroyed. But let us start with the string first. No need for these futuristic useless commercials.
