i mean both have dominated their respective sports like never seen before, both are so effortless in the way they play. both have taken their sports to new levels wih performances to biblical proportions.

any thoughts on how similiar or different they are?

No, one is a pub game the other is a world class sport.

thats a bit unfair

i am almost into my darts as much as i am into tennis

smart_player, i do agree with you, taylor had a bad spell at the start of last year, losing to mardle in the world championships then having an awful start to the premier league

yet once he got used to his new darts, he won practically everything

then he hammered my boy barney in the world final :-(

i can see many parallels (sp) between the 2, and even though fed lost today, i still think he will win a GS, possibly 2 (hopefully the french)

as a big fan of both sports, i defo agree with you

good post

I see a similarity in the scoring systems of darts and tennis more than any other sports to be honest.

Stoke power baby! The power all the way ja!
Anyway, its hard to compare. Tennis is an athletic sport whereas darts is an acurracy sport, therefore totally different. But if you are talking about acheivements, then i guess they are (or have) both dominated.

^^Football? (soccer)

Football matches don't end when a certain number of goals have been scored.

just off topic, the atmosphere are in two sports are in different spheres; i've been to the ali pali and SW19 and to sum it up it's strawberrys and cream vs fancy dress and lager.

do you think it would be good to have one tenis competition this year (as experiment) with an atmosphere similiar to darts?

i currently play at futurers level and as a player myself i would absolutely to play one or two competitions with a darts kind of atmosphere.

When Alex of Lazarus was 33, there were no more lands to conquer. Roger Federer is only 27!

I Love Sid!

please, all what needs to be done is to give Sid an intense coarse about the history and the rules of the game (e.g from someone like Bary Cowen or Chris Bradly). then by the time wimbledon comes along he'll be ready.

if someone knows how to go about setting up a petition then the info will be greatly appreciated, also we need to set up one facebook group:)

let's put some momentum behind this campaign:)

I Love Sid!

You've mixed two quotes there.

"The greatest comeback since Lazarus!"

"When Alex of Macedonia was 33 he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer. Bristow (or Federer in this case ;)) is 27."
