Ok so who else is freezing their butts these days? It is currently -22C in Montreal. My ski jacket was making a strange krinkly sound today. I think Montreal is a really great city with an awesome vibe, but this cold makes me want to run to the airport and just fly anywhere warm. I hope we don't go down to -37 like they did in Winnipeg. If you're in the deep freeze then just try to avoid becoming a popsicle, haha.

That is about -8F, no? The coldest temp I ever experienced was around -15F in the mid west(sic). That was without the wind chill. It was just plain silly how cold it was.

I think you need to go play some outdoor tennis. ;o)

I feel ya, man. I'm glad I don't live up there anymore.

Just a little interesting fact, there is a point where the C = F. I think it's about 40 if I'm not mistaken.

It'll get down to -22F tonight here in the Twin Cities. But it was a relatively balmy -8F when I went out earlier. I thought, while walking home, "Gee, it's colder out here than it is in most freezers." I tell people who've experienced cold, but not Minnesota cold, "The difference is often subtle. I've been in New York City when it was like 15F, and thought, this is really cold. But when it's like 10 below, the snot in your nose freezes and you feel the hairs pull when you breathe. Your chest feels like it's been punched in. And you look down at your legs to make sure you're wearing pants. Because it feels like you forgot them."

Currently about -4 here in Cleveland. And I live right by the lake, so the wind chill can only technically be defined in Kelvin.

Yeah the 2 scales meet at -40. There is a nice chart here: http://www.texloc.com/closet/cl_cel_fah_chart.html

Right now it is -26C (-15F) in Montreal. The wind is totally calm though so there is no windchill effect. You absolutely need a humidifier running 24/7. And 2 days ago I saw a UPS guy in shorts walking around outside.

-45 on the Gunflint Trail in northern MN on Tuesday morning. Bet the Grand Marais courts were available - not too many can handle that kind of cold!

Duluth at -34, are you kidding me? It's even cold playing indoors!

Secret goverment study has showed that this Could Be a NEW ice Age starting up again due to the Global warming. Global warming has stopped the Trans Atlantic Current that circulates the warm water to the north atlantic. I sure hope this isn't true.

To the OP. Stop messing with everyone. Al Gore has already warned us about Global Warming, so what you are suggesting is an impossibility.

^^^Hey, Drak, you could have all the people from up north moving into Florida once the ICE age hits. You could have more tennis players to hit with... there is a good side to everything,,,,, Glass Half full...

Just a little interesting fact, there is a point where the C = F. I think it's about 40 if I'm not mistaken.
Let's see, F = 32 + 9/5C. So if C = F, then replace F with C,
C = 32 + 9/5C
5C = 160 + 9C
-4C = 160
C = -40
You're right.

Ah well if mr Gore says it can't be then I guess I should be able to put on my shorts and go play tennis outdoors.

The tennis is fine, with no wind and 70 degrees this week- into next weeks continued slight warming trend.

BUT the outdoor pool heater at the club is on the fritz leaving us to use the lap pool facilities- and God only knows when the waiters will get their butts over here, they act like they don't know this pool exsists for cripes sake-

How much more can a guy take?

It's -8F here in St. Paul, MN ... at noon. But the sun is shining.

Minnesotans will tell you they love the cold. And you'll see some ice fishing and skating when it's below zero. Lots of snow mobiles. But they also love to start their cars by remote; they love their heated car seats; and they love the Skyway system that connects buildings downtown without having to go outside. In fact, you can get from your home to work and back home without stepping outside. People show up to work in short sleeves.

It is -32 Celsius here which is -25 Fahrenheit but if you go by the wind chill factor, it's -41 Celsius (-41 Fahrenheit).

You know, Chicago has something like an ad hoc Skyway system underground. It's not particularly nice in sections, though.

This is a good time of the year for wool socks.

It was -20C today but didn't feel as bad as last night. I even managed to go get the car washed. They took their time drying it properly so the doors and windows didn't freeze at all.

About 8 below (F) in Wisconsin right now, heading to 23 or 25 below overnight. Officially too cold to get in the car and drive 30 miles to play indoor tennis!

I drove to the table tennis club, also in WI, tonight, and I think my pants froze before my car finally warmed up, not to mention it was also *** cold inside the dingy old gym we play in. I should have played indoor tennis in the toasty warm club :mad:.

I heard that if you go out and pee, it will freeze in midair. is this true ??No, not enough time to freeze, no stagnation and there's salt in it to boot. But in -0 degree weather, what you're peeing out of may start to act like a scared turtle.
