So the USTA has this ranking list, dated 1/17/09.
It's entitled "National National Championship Selection List"
Obviously a typo, but still, what in the heck is this list?!

There are 27 names on the list (not 32). 27 is not divisible by 2, so that further perplexes me. Several of the names have Zeros. (R. Williams, Fowler, Harrison, Ore, Vanoverbeek, Frank, W. Parker) What does it mean when they have zeros? Is that them announcing they are going pro?

They do provide some explanation (http://tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments/Rankings/RankingListNote.aspx?id=547981). It seems that they have a prior four months cutoff for this list, which might account for zeroes. Then they use some ITF rankings, which might put some players with zeroes in USTA points onto the list.

well they must publish this list for a reason? For what purpose is it? Maybe it gets them into certain tournaments?

on the above link, over to the left hand side is a full explanation of the "selection process" for this tournament....also, on the national championship selection list, it explains why the zeros are on the list--there are other criteria beside USTA ranking

that's for 16s. My thread is for the 18s.
I used the USTA website & searched "easter bowl" and "National Spring Championship" and NOTHING comes up. That's super weird considering your link takes me straight to the 14s/16s National Spring Championship. It's as if the USTA seach engine can't find it.
So, your link doesn't help me. It may help someone else.
I am thinking that the B18 Easter Bowl is solely ITF & thus has its own (ITF) selection process.
What do you think my son's chances would be to get in? He's about top 50 in USTA 18s, but no ITF. (He's 18 all of 2009.)

tennismom....i do not know how to post a link, but go to the USTA website, go to the search tournament page for national tournaments...go to april, and the 18s easter bowl has a link....it says on it for entries contact tournament director, and all of the information is there....that selection list applies to this tournament...i will try to figure out how to post a link, but if i can't, just follow those steps...

I sent the TD a message. No response yet. Over the past two months I've sent the USTA 3 e-mails and left 3 phone messages. Not once has the USTA responded. Weird. Not that the Easter Bowl TD is in that category though
Too tired to search now. Too many long work days.
