I am not in high school, but the high schools in my area play a 7 match format, 3 singles and 4 doubles. Other high schools, particularly in TX have a completely different format. It really depends on what region of the country you are in. Because there is no official National tourny for high schools, the formats don't have to be the same.

Yeah, it's different everywhere. Our coach, who previously coached in Michigan, said they had a 3 singles 3 doubles format, with one person only being able to play either singles in doubles. She was shocked when she came here and found out we have 6 varsity players, all of whom play singles and then pair up for 3 doubles teams.

My schools play 6 singles and 3 doubles. Each match is worth 1 point, and singles players can play doubles too.
