Just curious, I am playing the National Open there next weekend, and I am very curious to hear, if any of you guys know, how the courts play and the conditions.
Im thinking I need to bring rackets strung a bit more tight, because it is situated very near the mountains.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks :)

Considering it is hotter than here on Long Island by a lot, I suggest stringing tighter by a few lbs because of tension loss in the next time your playing with it, Hope it helped and good luck!

Any one know how the courts may play? I highly doubt any TW'ers live in El Paso or near there...
I hope it won't be windy. I am fine w/ hot and dry conditions.

El Paso is flat as I've ever seen. A little wind feels like a LOT. And its too early to be hot or really dry, but still might not be what you're used to.

Oh thats gonna be hard to deal with. >_<
we'll see. I am going to try to get a day of hitting (Friday) b4 the tournament starts on Sautrday. Hopefully my draw is favorable so I have a match or two to get my rhythm going b4 playing some challegening opponents.
I just had a mediocre tournament this weekend, not great, hopefully my form can only improve.

Windy as it comes- dust in the air, and the mining facility across the border adds it's own little tinge.
Cheap eats are the 24 hr "Taco Cabana"s-
There is the best fried ice cream in America at Mickey's 3 Banditos resturant, if you are celebrating- but the place is always packed.
Don't bother going across the border, hombre... Nothing to see- If you insist park downtown walk over pedestrian bridge- You will need Mexican pesos to get back- pay bridge toll, don't forget to really look at where you parked.
Stay by the Airport if you can- Marriott or close to it.

The good thing about this tourney is the fact that the number 16 seed is number 360 in the country, which suggests a very weak field. So do not despair, you will do fine.

For fun; the Border Patrol Museum is cool. My son loved it, my daughter didn't think it was so cool. Jando's Italian Cuisine has great italian food. Los Bandidos de Carlos and Mickey's has authentic mexican food. Have fun & good luck!

Well, whatever you do, don't stray anywhere near Juarez, which is the city nearest El Paso. The level of violence going on there at the moment is beyond horrifying.

I was going to play but it's a long story.
Anyways El Paso is not flat, the wind is not bad. The weather down here is pretty cold right now don't count on some super hot day.
As for the courts i haven't play on them but they aren't the nicest

Anything beats those parking lots at the High schools up in the hills....
The St. Varain site reminds me of old,old New Orleans cemetaries where they bury folks in the walls.

It's supposed to be around 70 degrees this weekend. Mornings are cold but it heats up quickly. El Paso isn't flat and the EPYTC is in the northeast part of town at the base of the mountain on a road called Transmountain which takes you over the mountain to the west side of town. If wind does kick up, it will be alot more windy in the northeast than any other part of town. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah. Take the advice and don't go across the border. About 250 murders in a month and a half. Some El Pasoans have got caught in crossfires. Violence is deadly in Juarez, MX. right now because of a war between two drug cartels fighting over the drug trade in that city. Some shootings take place in the middle of the day and alot of policeman shot and killed in broad daylight. No kidding, do not go across the border!!!!!!
