View Full Version : Head XRC screwed pallet system!

The last XRC I bought had a ruined grip on it... so I updated it with a TW leather grip.

What I found underneath was interesting (to say the least)... a screwed pallet system (nut and bolt and each end of the grip) - see pics below.

Why don't racquet companies these days have this type of interchangeable pallet system?

I can't imagine the weight of a nut and bolt is that great!

First three pics are of one side... the last pic is the opposite side.

Take a look at the old Arthur Ashe Head. It has the same system.

All mine are unused... and don't want to pull the stock leather grips off

Therefore, I'll take your word for it ;-)

Any other Head racquets that you know of have the same pallet system?

I have my first generation POG Oversize, which have a few skrew holes on the handle, and filled by little metal bolts on 1 side, and empty on the other side.

How does the XRC play. I had a chance to get this racket a couple of times but always ending up choosing something else because I haven't heard anything about this racket.

Sweeeeet! There is no other hit like the XRC, IMO.

One of the most underrated classics.

So it hits sweet. I could use a little more description too. What does it feel like?

^ Better than any other racquet I've ever hit with.

No graphite. Just fibreglass.

^ Big, big mistake.

I think some of the fischer pro number ones had that pallet system.
