I'm having trouble returning a slice serve. For instance, when I am on the deuce court and the slice pulls me wide to the right, sometimes i hit it with a chip and it bounces off my racquet funny and goes wide left (my perspective). How should I be returning this type of serve, flat forehand? topspin? chip? slice back? What's the easiest way to just "control" the ball in?

you need to keep moving forward and stay low. cut the ball off at an angle

I use an eastern forehand grip for the slice serve return and hit it back flat and crosscourt or up the middle. Don't create too much of an angle, but you'll find that going up the middle is pretty easy with a flat return. Be careful if he likes to come in on the slice serve. The flat return up the middle makes for an easy volley so open your face a little more and lob him if he starts coming in on you.
