Price difference is $5 between reels. Is one better than the other?

they are both the same strings. but there is a difference in color. get the natural over the white one. the natural plays a lot better with more pop.

I thought it was that micro super has printing on it and micro doesn't, something simple like that.

How's the durability on either 16 gauge or 17 gauge strung in either the low 50's or mid/high 60's?

That is what TW's explanation is when comparing the strings via TW's description of the strings. You, my friend--win the big prize!

The 200 M reel of Gosen OG-Sheep Micro 16 in natural that I received from TW on Jan 9, 2009 has the following printing on the string: GOSEN MICRO 16 JAPAN ES. The same in white also has the same printing both in 16g and 17g.

It would be nice if someone would do a sticky on this because in some form or fashion this is one REALLY DEAD HORSE.

Do a search on the forum and on the TW website:

No difference between micro-sheep and micro, just the way they are LISTED on TW:
OG-Micro: Listed for 12 packs and reels, all but 18g
OG-SHEEP Micro: Listed for individual packs and 18g reels (why are 18g reels listed as OG-SHEEP Micro and cost $70? Maybe it's because TW sells 17g and 16g reels 10-20 to 1 of the 18g, and they get a much better price for the 16g, 17g reels)

There is NO generic OG-Micro anymore (There used to be, but no more, so don't even begin to express your opinion on this subject unless you've ordered a reel of OGM in the last six months to a year) ALL CURRENT REELS ARE LABELED OG-SHEEP MICRO. PRINTED ON THE STRING: GOSEN MICRO XX JAPAN ES, and all reels are the same stuff you'll get if you order a reel direct from Gosen (I know, because I've done it). So even though the 16g and 17g reels are "listed" on TW as OG-MICRO, the actual reel that you will receive will be marked OG-SHEEP MICRO, and will be printed on the string.

Some people think there is a difference between the packs and the reels. There most certainly was a difference between the old generic reels and the packs. Now? I doubt it, but order a pack and see for yourself. It will cost you less than $4 FOR YOU to know for sure. I don't know for sure because even if there were a difference, OGM is so good for the price, I don't think it would be worth it to have slightly better sets for $4 vs reels of OGM for, at most $1.50 a set.

Some people think that there is a difference between the natural and the white. Maybe, but it's all opinion. You might as well argue that there is a difference between PSGD yellow and PSGD white. I've never used the white, so I don't know. If you want the REAL answer, order a reel of natural and a reel of white and see for yourself. It will only cost you $60 to become an "expert of your own opinion." My bet is you won't be able to tell the difference.

Everyone just needs to appreciate the fact that you can purchase a good quality synthetic gut for $30 and let's move on.

This is nothing against the OP, but if this thread goes the direction it usually goes, you will have a hundred opinions and everyone that's trying to learn something will get totally confused. Most "well meaning but wrong opinions" are from people that don't realize that the old generic reels are no longer what you get from TW when you purchase a $30 reel of OGM.

The big problem with forums is no one reads the stickies.
