View Full Version : Picked up a ProKennex 10G SMI
Found one on Fleabay in excellent condition and thought I'd give it a try! It's quite hefty... heavier and more headlight than I was expecting.
I like the matte paint job on the 5G SMI more than this shiny paint job on this 10G SMI... but it ain't too bad :)
PK 10G SMI Specs:
Head size: 98-100
String pattern: 18x20
Length: 27"
Weight: 11.5 oz. (strung)
Balance: 8pts. HL (strung)
Material: ? (is it the same as the current ki10?)
I'm going to slap a leather grip on it, string it up with NG and take it to the courts.
Anyone hit with this older 10G?
Thought?
One interesting observation is the split throat... directly above the grip very much like the Ultra 2 :)

I looked for one a while back; good find. Let us know how it hits.

Will do. It's been raining here for a few days... so, hopefully, tomorrow or Wednesday.
With a replacement leather grip, and 6 grams (total) at 9/3, 2-pieces of head tape and a rubber band dampener...
The final specs are:
Weight: 12.2 oz. (strung)
Balance: 7-8pts. HL (strung)
Should be interesting.
Hey Jay, do you know the materials of the 10G SMI? Is it the same as the ki10 (80% graphite and 20% Kevlar)?
I notice this version is also 18x20...
I thought the 10G SMI was 16x20, like the 5G SMI :?

That I don't know. I figured it'd be graphite/kevlar. I didn't know it was 18x20 though.

Yeah, i thought the pattern looked kinda tight... so I counted :)
This is a very comfortable stick! However, it's a bit too light for me.
Still like my 5G's!
It will show up in the classifieds a bit later!

There's a post that says it 80/20 graphite/fiberglass.
