Excellent! Thanks to this we don't have to search through your various RDC logs. Great idea!

P.S.: Do you happen to have a Yonex RX-32 (oval shaped head)???

P.S.2: You missed a slash at "Dunlop Max 200G Pro 387/13.657/32/349"

Very nice Dino, great job !

Can you tell the specs of the Vantage racquet (maybe you mentionned it elsewhere, if so I'm sorry) ?

1) No, not yet... I do have an oval shaped OPS 32, however. I'm not sure what the different lines of racquets were like with Yonex at that time.
2) Thanks. Fixed.

Very nice Dino, great job !

Can you tell the specs of the Vantage racquet (maybe you mentionned it elsewhere, if so I'm sorry) ?

Thanks.
I probably haven't mentioned the "official" specs, so here you go:

Unique code: 2211111
95 sq in, 16x19, 63RA, 27", 330 g/11.64 oz, 315 mm
My specs:
348 g/12.28 oz 60RA 328SW

A little reminder that the "official" Vantage specs are unstrung, and mine are strung.

I beleive that 2 rx's were released as a mid similar to the ps 85. The oval face with yonex graphics didn't inspire confidence. If only we knew what we were missing out on at the time....

There may be some unpublished stats, but the aim of this post is just to put put all the stats that I've posted in one thread.

Thanks. Great info. It's amazing that the flex rating varies form 40 to 70. As for me, I prefer rackets in the 50ish range for my tender elbow.

Well, they actually range from 22 to 80, or 31 to 80 if you only count graphites. The "31" racquet, a Rossignol FGC is actually one of my favorite racquets to play with.

Awesome start to a great reference! I'd love to see the flex of a Head XRC!

Thanks! I'd love to get my hands on a Head XRC...

Great list - nice to see how the old Slazenger Silhoutte measures up as I used to use that. Are the static weights for strung or unstrung?

Strung, unless I have made a note. I'm going to add a bunch of racquets later, which are NOS. Those are all unstrung, and I'll be sure to let you know in the stats.

I think it is a good idea to store specifications of all rackets in one place at this site (instead of threads or posts scattered all over)

So do I, hence this thread.

Excellent compilation!

I noticed a typo in the list:

Is that '7' supposed to be a '/' ?

Is that "Head Radical 630 Candycane" actually the first Radical (tour 630 (European name), or trisys 260 MP (USA name), or bumblebee (nickname)).
Anyway, this is probably the best post on this forum. Thanks, Dino...

Hi Kalic,

Sorry about the late reply. I've just changed the names in the list as the names were confused. The "Zebra" is the first generation Twin Tube and the "Candycane" is the second generation Twin Tube, I believe.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've also added new racquets. Please check the list for:

Major Mid 25
Rossignol F200 (Green)
Rossignol F200 (White)
Rossignol F210
Rossignol F340 (Another one, listed as (2))

I didnlt realize the stats bet these two sticks were so similar, interesting that Courier didn't want anything to do w/ the stars n' stripes... wonder what the key difference is... Maybe I have to hunt down the S&S 85

the head xrc is a great frame, a little tough to get the swing speed up on my forehands but lots of control and a plush feel, excellent for volleys, i usually end up hitting a few off the frame though each session

New racquet measured: Head Elite Pro (CAPped) 352/12.42/52/324

Wow... Pretty impressive racquet. I have played quite a lot with the PC600 and a little bit with the PT630 and this felt a little bit like a combination of the two. Firm and solid are the key words.

OK, time for a few more racquets:

Head Prestige 600 (Grey+Lime)
Weight: 350/12.35
SW: 307
Flex: 60

Kneissl White Star Mid
Weight: 399/14.07
SW: 372
Flex: 55

Snauwaert Vitas Gerulaitis Autograph
Weight: 360/12.70
SW: 331
Flex: 41

Donnay Boron 25
Weight: 366/12.91
SW: 350
Flex: 64

Head Extreme Competition
Weight: 324/11.43
SW: 304
Flex: 62

Puma Boris Becker Topstar UNSTRUNG!
Weight: 334/11.78
SW: 294
Flex: 61

Great job putting together all these stats.
Wish I could bring bye a few more dozen interesting classics to add to these. Like Bud, I like to find the specs on the Head XRC. Another flexible log is the PDP racket. Are there any racket that are in the 20 range for flex ? I suspect the slaz phantom maybe that flexible. Just noticed:

Rossignol R30 370/13.05/22/345

I could really hold onto some balls with long strokes using that R30 :)

Ahhh, that one:)

Am amazed it is that flexy!

Fantastic looking racquet by the way, I will give this a go, and test to see if it plays this flexy (thanks to Bud by the way):)

That phantom is a beauty and I have one as well - one of my more spectacular buys for the princely sum of $2!

I understood that it didn't last long in production, because it tended to break easily.

Dino, any chance you can add the Chris Competition to the list? Unfortunately I can't offer any stats except the weight, which is 12 oz (or thereabouts). But the flex certainly seems to be low, surely less than 45.

Well, I have made a point to only include my own racquets, so I wasn't planning on adding anything else. At least not at the time being.

Yes, that Volkl weights strung 351 grams, balance 32.8 cm, flex 48, swingweight 339. Do you remember Andrey Chesnokov playin' with it in the beginning of his career? Really beautiful frame, just reminds me the Volkl T9-30(plane red).

Seems unreal ! Is it the case also for the 90 version ?
I noticed that depending on the year patent, the specs (weight, balance > sw) vary alot.
Made that comparison between GP90 "patented 1978" and "patented 1986"

I'm about to get an avenger soon ! Cant' wait !!

Thanks Virginia!

Was this the first players stick that was a widebody?

Virginia
06-21-2010, 12:08 PM
I wouldn't call it a widebody - yes, the beam is thicker than usual, but that's only because of its injection moulded construction.

SirSweetSpot
06-21-2010, 04:53 PM
^^ I would...considering the beam widths of the woods that just preceeded it and the first generation graphites, like the PK Black Ace, were 15mm.

Virginia

Yes, but it's not like ordinary graphites. is it?

Good job and thanks for the info.
How many times did you measure each racket?
I know some people measure it 5 times and average them out and I know the swing weight can have a huge difference from one time to the other.
The RD7 ,TW says it is 54 flex rating instead of 59 as you say. What kind of customization was done on the RD 7?
thanks

Thanks, Buckethead. :)

In my experience the difference between numbers from different measuring sessions hasn't been that big, and accordingly I haven't measured the racquets a specific number of times. If there has been a difference I have been sure to take a few readings, though, and make out an average, as you pointed out.

About the RD7, I got it from an ATP pro, but I'm not sure what the exact modifications are.

Which Pro did you get it from?I heard so many things about the RD-7 as being one of the best rackets ever made and I'd like to know why there is a big difference in the flex rating from your measurements and TW's.
Thanks

Dino, thanks for all the great info here and info/pictures in your wood racquet thread. Just wondering if the Lacoste T2000 is the same as the Wilson T2000 made famous by JimmyC and if the specs are stock? I grew up playing w/this and the Donnay Borg Pro and was hoping you might have the specs on that one also.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, rromeo!

About the Lacoste racquet; yes on both accounts. AFAIK, Lacoste came up with the racquet design and produced it under their own name. Later Wilson either bought the design or made racquets with a license agreement, and Jimmy Connors made the frame famous as the Wilson T2000. The specs are for a stock Lacoste version.

Regarding the Donnay, I'll have to check if I've got that model. Unfortunately I haven't given my woods that much attention as of yet.

If you don't mind, could re measure the RD-7 again?

I have now remeasured the RD7. :)

The first reading was: 358/12.63/59/354

After having remeasured it 5 times I get only minute differences compared to the first reading, like +1 stiffness point and +1 gram in weight.

Thank you Dino.
It sound right then, because I bought 2 of those and didn't think the flex rating was 54 neither.but my frames are 9 HL and one has 360g and the other has 362g,the lighter is 4 3/8.But maybe He has a customized to his specs of choice, even though I didn't think it'd be 54.

BTW, the balance on mine is 32.75 cm. I'll convert that into points later.
