I was browsing on the big auction site one day, and I came upon this APDC+

But I saw this picture and I've never seen that Hologram at that spot on any APDC/APDC+ much less any babolat.

Any takers here?

If it has a sort of chinese tag and a sticker at the throat, stay away from it. I got one cheap off a chinese market place but it didn't play like a regular Babolat. Sure if you wanna spend some money and try it out go ahead but I'm just saying it's not gonna play like a real one.

hard to tell from that photo alone, but the hologram looks fake to me... because they ain't meant to be at that spot IIRC..

Cool thing is, that photo was taken on my birthday!

Just based on that pic alone it looks very suspicious. There is no Babolat barcode sticker. I would stay away.

I think it's fake usually the sticker with the barcode number is on the left side of the stats. I also haven't seen holographic stickers on any on my friends Babolat even the older models.

I saw several Babolat PDR's with the same PRO LEGACY - sticker and they were definately fake so this is also a fake racket!!!

Here you will find my thread re a fake Babloat Pure Drive Roddick - racket from a friend. It had the same sticker:

Seems weird that someone goes to all that trouble to produce a fake and then can't be arsed to put one of the stickers in the right place.

There are lots of sites offering cheap wholesale racquets. Based on the attached pic, i cant realli tell if they are real K-Six Ones. But with that kind of price, ill generally avoid it.

TS, fyi, my adpc does not have the hologram too.

Cheers,

Definately real. It says Wilson right on it!

Definitely fake. I bought two fakes, it has the fake holographic sticker. NO babolat APDCs have a holographic sticker. They have a serial number sticker and a grip size sticker. If it doesnt have these it is definitely fake. Most fake APDCs are missing the grip size sticker.

www.sipi.in do the web and auction monitoring for AmerSports. They pulled a listing on the auction site with this photo. Seller had tried to hide the source by cropping the photo.

I copied the listing, using a spoof photo in one.

SIPI pulled my listings too and confirmed that the rackets breached copyright:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, SIPI, have been appointed by Wilson to handle their web surveillance
program.

We check different criteria before deciding about closing internet
auctions.
We are forced to do this because we face big issues with faked rackets
and
parallel import.

With respect to your query, the item in question was removed from
auction as
we believe it bears counterfeit Wilson trademarks and also infringes
design
rights and copyright owned by the brand.

Best regards,

On behalf of Amer Sports Europe Services GmbH

As a fleabay addict, I bought a Speedport Black on there when I first started playing. I've played with it ever since, but I mistrust it so much now from reading all these threads.

As I've never played with a shop-bought racquet, I just don't know whether it's playing as it should or not. It might be real, it might not...

Many racquets say 1000 in stock.
And some popular ones say like 993.

I rarely seen a counterfeit Prince racquet, much less one that uses O3 Holes.

The most popular and commonly pirated racquets seem to be Babolat Pure/Aero Pro Drives and K90s/K95s. Not to say that others aren't copied as well, but they are def. rarer

On a side note, I have purchased several O3 Racquets from the 'Bay and they all have been legit thus far, and weighed within 2g of my T-W purchased ones and approx same balance

Yeah, I've read up a lot on fake frames, and haven't heard of any successful fakes of Prince frames since they brought out the O3's. I've seen pictures of some very poorly done fakes ones listed on the bay. They didn't look close to correct.

Oh, I also saw a fake of Sharapova's racquet where the O-ports were just painted on. It was just a standard frame, painted to look like there were giant holes in the frame.

It's just not worth anybody's time to go to the trouble of making a salable fake Prince frame.

that could possibly be a paintjobbed pro stock as well :)

I was just browsing through the pages here, and found what might be the first fake O3 I've seen.

Just looking at the pics, it seems way off. They had to have either gotten a mold somehow, or made their own with a real frame.
