what would .080 be in guage? anyone? I looked for a converter.

0.080 inches =2.032mm
You would need to find some very small . I would think you would ruin your racquet with such a thick string, or at least ruin the grommets.
15gauge = 1.41-1.49mm
16gauge =1.26-1.34mm
17gauge = 1.16-1.24mm
The gauge size is the string under tension,for example, a string that measures 1.26 mm unstrung would appear to be either a 16 or 16L. When strung, however, the diameter might become 1.21, which would make it a 17-gauge string
