I just want to know who is currently in the lead and by how many race points. I always thought that the system was very interesting. Why did they get rid of it?

Actually yeah good point.

AO finalist > Memphis champ

Come to think of it, Andy is also AO semi-finalist. He's done pretty well this early on in the season.

Come to think of it, Andy is also AO semi-finalist. He's done pretty well this early on in the season. He has made it to the semis of every tourny he has entered. Not too shabby. He'll probably do decently at the two HC Masters as well. So I think he'll be up there until clay courts season.

Too many morons got confused by the ATP Race so they abandoned it to reduce confusion.
This is what they should have done all along and it would have been fine. Don't do the stupid divide by 5 crap. Do they YTD listing but use the exact same point values as the entry system.

Roddick got to the semis of the AO, so that put him ahead of everyone but Nadal and Federer, and tied him with Verdasco.

But, he's also won a tournament, gotten to a final, and gotten to one other semi.

(Federer got 1200 points from the AO, Roddick got 720 - a difference of almost 500 points. However, Roddick made up that difference by winning an ATP 500 tournament which got him, well, 500 points.)

by the time the year end championships roll around the race = the rankings. the top 8 can then change based on the results of the championships, but the 8 who qualify in the race are the same 8 who finish at the top of the rankings...that's why they got rid of the race, because for some reason no one understands it.

And Federer? Why is Roddick #2 in the race?

That shocked me, too  Since last time,
Djokovic has jumped +7,
Rochus jumped +15,
Almagro jumped +18,
Andeev jumped +18,
Korolev jumped +29,
Santoro jumped +29,
Arguello jumped +60

Cilic #9 =] Robredo tied with him he did really good in the south american clay court season. Once again Nalbandian so far down and somehow makes two good runs at the end of the year and saves his ***. Stepanek is having such a good year I hope he can keep it up I love the way he plays so beautifully at the net.

Roddick ruining the top 4 theory YAY! Lol sick of that top 4 crap..lets just go back to referring to the whole tour.

Roddick is #2 because he played more tournies than Federer.

And Federer? Why is Roddick #2 in the race?

That's cuz Federer played 2 tourney's, Roddick played 5. And Roddick did ok in those tourneys.

Have you been following? Roddick has completely elite-level results so far this season- a Grand Slam semifinal, and a tour-level championship, final, and semifinal. I believe he's the only player on the tour to have played as many events as he has and made at least the semifinals of all of them. Nadal is still ahead of him because of the Slam title, of course.

ATP race is dead and there is a good reason for that.

ATP ranking is the only one relevant now:

I've not found it on the atp site

if you're interested in checking what the points would be though there's a guy on mtf continuing to count them who updates pretty regularly
