If u watch his 2006 game against nadal and compare to his aussi open 09 geeeez wat a big difference. If he plays like that no ones gona beat him on hard court or grass and would even go close on clay to nadal!!!!!!!

Hey, if Federer played anything like he did pre-2008 then he would be unbeatable.

Federer of 2006 should coach current Federer. Not Cahill. Not Annacone. :p

Federer will never play again like he did in 2006. If he can he could.

for me federer's tmc performance in 2007 is better than in 2006 except for his match against gonzalez. in 2006 fed had pretty much tougher time in his RR matches and against nadal in the semis. in 2007 after the loss against gonzalez federer pretty much streamrolled everyone, including nadal in the semis.

I think Fed probably played his best tennis for these 2 Masters Cups (06 and 07), and at an age where most players would start to decline, it's very difficult for him to turn back the clock and regain this level. He needs to adapt his game more to winning matches than just playing beautiful tennis.

In TMC 06 against Nadal it seemed like he was some robot at the baseline.

he was very confident then. he moved better, and his shots are FLATTER and faster and deep.

you don't see many fast, flat, deep shots from federer these days. His today's shots are more rally style. he made some change that just fits Nadal's games. a little shame indeed.
