A man with good taste. Mathieu is awesome. That link didnt work for me but I think he may be playing an oversize prestige, like I think zabaleta used. Just a guess though.

Yeah,i like his style of play - great player
Zabaleta uses a prestige classic i thought but mathieu - hmm
A i.prestige or a radical mp i thougt..
Hope my man Martinez can help out:) !?

Now the pic must go..

It's definetively not a Prestige. I suspect Mathieu is using a PT 630 w/ALU.

03-04-2005, 12:37 PM
why is that not a prestige classic? it fits the bill with the paint and a lot of other pros do just that with their Pc600's

03-04-2005, 01:24 PM
i thought its the i.radical mp,because before the lm paint he plays the radical mp i mean, because radical pjs are rare;)

i was at the match with him vs. sargisian at the usopen, at the second row next to the court (tw doesnt allow the single word synonym for that)i couldnt really tel lwhat his frame was, but this guy is really good for sure. hes got game.

Sorry I don't know anything about the racquet or about Mathieu, but could you guys describe his game either here? I know this question is more appropriate for the General Pro Player Discussion. I was just wondering about his style of play though (one or two handed backhand? serve-and-volley, all-court, or baseline? western, semi-western, or eastern forehand?) Thanks.

2 handed backhand, agressive, semiwest forahdn i think, good serve, pleasnty of power, nice touch, good vollies. the guy has a lot of heart, he fought through a almost 5 hour 5 setter and came very close to winning it, thats what really surprised me. overall, he is a strong player, with good strokes, and very nice game to watch. not all power like roddick, but not quite santaro like spin control. hes a good balance of the two.

I herd that PMH'S racquets were a total custom job along the lines of an extended pro tour 630. Maybe Tom Mart. or Aames can tell us for sure. This was from a guy who knew/knows whoever the French davis Cup team trainer was during that '01 final against Russia where PHM choked away the cup. Or was it '02?? Anyhow, that might be way off-base, but I'm just offering what I have herd.

Thx for da Info Jonas - i hope David or Tom can tell us more about...

Yeah like him too for his great groundies and he is a big Fighter on court - he has a great girlfriend too,she was beside me at his Train@Kitzbühel,nice to see her;)

My ten year old went up to him in Grasse at a club match a few months ago(plays for Jean Bouin, along with Gasquet, Monfils, Mahut, Dipasquale) and he laughed when asked what he had under the paint job. A regular LM Prestige, so he says...

03-06-2005, 09:43 AM
hm,thats not true i thought, look hes racket and you see that:)

btw: he won in this Minutes against Johansson - hes a daviscupkiller!
Nice Henryy!;)

Definately Alu, and he's using a Lxuilon dampener.

03-08-2005, 03:29 AM
why is that not a prestige classic? it fits the bill with the paint and a lot of other pros do just that with their Pc600's
Look at the string pattern and you can see that it's a 630 mold. The Prestige Classic was never made in 630. And it's no i. Prestige because of the different bumper style. And it's definetly no LM Prestige because the frame is different. So I als think that he uses a PT 630.

Looks like an i.Prestige to me... deff not LM Prestige or classic.

03-08-2005, 06:06 AM
Someone finally noticed the picture. It looks like an i.prestige 630.

03-14-2005, 06:19 AM
so mathieu is really using an iprestige 98 under paintjob? is it the xl or normal version?

03-14-2005, 09:51 AM
no,its a pro tour 280,many guys mean that, and when you look at the gettypics it looks most like a Pt...
