I know hands don't grow with time after a certain age but I find my grip size has gone from a 3/8 to somewhere between a 1/2 and 5/8. I am not all that tall but in between 1/2 an 5/8 seems most comfortable for me on my wilsons. I got a couple of 6.1s in 4 1/2 last year but I found that one overgrip (with the base replacement grip) is no longer enough. Anyone else feel more comfy using a larger grip?

Most body parts shrink with age but for a short time dimensions can change. My grip size also went from a 3/8 to a 1/2. It could be due to the usage while playing tennis - subtle muscle enlargement, flattening etc. I also feel that my feet have become more tight and compact. We are talking like 1/8 th of an inch so it might be possible.

All personal preference. I have small hands, but have used from 3/8 to 5/8. Now, I like the 1/4. Go figure.

Have you changed the way you grip the racquet: semi-western, eastern, etc?

I have gone to a smaller grip as I moved more semi-western.

5'11", always used 5/8th, at least since 1974.

I thought I would never get away from using 5/8th grip...currently 1/2 grip [Wilson].

I think it's all about personal preference. I have used from 5/8 to 3/8. It can also depend on the brand you are using.

I, too, have gone the opposite direction. I used to prefer 3/8. Now I prefer 1/4.

Same for me, went from a 5 to a 4 as I got more Western.

Brand matters also, of late I play a 4 with pretty much any brand except Head (shape) and Yonex (that I feel run small) where I still play a 5.

I have 3 rackets, I could only get 2 x 4 1/2 and 1 x 4 1/4.
For the 4 1/2 I have the base grip + an overgrip, for the 4 1/4 I have the base grip, another grip and then an over grip, which is perfect.

I've actually gone smaller, although I'm not sure that age is the cause of it. I played 4 5/8 all my life then when I got my Redondos I went with 4 1/2. This was even though I played a PK ki5 PSE Ionic in 5/8's. So I don't attribute it all to changing brands either.

I only started Tennis about 3 years ago and was measured as a 1/2 for my grip size so my first racquet was that size. I never really felt good with it but didn't know any different for about 8 mo. I then upgraded the racquet I play with and and went to 3/8. That was better but not perfect so I have since gone to between 3/8 and 1/4. I know that sounds a little off but I use a dremmel to sand down the top and bottom bevels on my Head frames and make them more round. This does not take them all the way to 1/4 but pretty close. I am 5'11" with decent sized hands but the bigger grips just feel aweful for me.
