I'm buying the Babolat Pure Control and I've demoed the 4 3/8 grip size and it feels kinda large compared to my old i.radical and all other rackets in the same grip size. I'm thinkin babolats grip sizes are a little off. Should I order a 4 1/4? Anyone done this before?

A lot of people say that Bab grips run large, but I personally have had no problems sticking to my normal 4 1/2 (with Volkl).

i think 1 size smaller + overgip = same grip size as head racquets

I think you should go with 4 1/4 as I had a pure control in the past at 3/8 and it felt a size larger. I tried my friends pure drive at 4 1/4 and it did feel like a 3/8's. Hope this helps.

Babolat racquets are about 1 size bigger. I recommend 1 size smaller.

just order true. you'll get used to it, eventually like it.

they run big, but not enough to warrant you going down one size. a 3/8 will not be equal to a 1/2.

head's usually run smallest i find. of the racquets i know it goes...

head
prince
wilson
babolat

in terms of the same size running smaller to bigger.

I used the I.radical 4 1/2. I purchased babolat 4 1/2. I thought it was 4 5/8. Head racquets do run a little bit smaller.

I think they are true to size, but may feel large to some because of the shape of the handle.

It depends on the model. I demoed the Pure Control MP and the Pure Control Zylon at the same time. The MP was true to size and the Zylon was maybe a half size bigger. Both were supposed to be size 3.

I just received 3 Babolat Pure Control MPs and they run true to size...several years ago that wasn't the case (TW used to post a special warning, but removed it some time ago).

anybody know how a size 3 wilson grip compares to a size 3 babolat grip on the new aeropro drive?

Ok FYI, my normal grip size is 4 1/2 on Wilson and Head, 4 5/8 on Prince. Above them all is a white Wilson pro overgrip.

Here is my $0.02, when i demo the Babolat PD at 4 3/8 grip size. It's felt like 4 1/2 gri size without overgrip. The Babolat PD that i tried is the original stock replacement grip.

With a white Wilson pro overgrip it felt a bigger than 4 1/2 but smaller than 4 5/8. But with the tourna grip, you will not feel the grip size increase much because it is thinner than most overgrip.

Hope this help.

anybody know how a size 3 wilson grip compares to a size 3 babolat grip on the new aeropro drive? Not sure about size 3, but I can tell you about size 4. I have a size 4 Wilson nCode61 95 and a size 4 Bab. AeroPro Drive. The APD feels a bit larger. I kinda wish I bought a size 3 APD and then used an overwrap. But, you really should check it yourself.

when i briefly owned a pure drive, the 4 1/2 did feel a little bigger than the 4 1/2 on my prostaffs or 200g's.

You could try ordering one size smaller and adding a 1/2 grip heat shrink sleeve on it.
