Is it at all possible to downsize a grip from a 3/8 to a 1/4? If so, how do I do it? What grips should I use do accomplish a smaller feel?

try just using 2 over grips instead of a replacement grip

you can take it to your local pro shop and they can shave the grip down for you.

LaserFibre has a replacement grip that's thin enough for you to put an overgrip over it and get the same grip size as with a typical thicker replacement grip. I think it's called a "reducer".
