View Full Version : new kzen team VS old?

Hi, everyone. Well, here's the deal. I'm in the market for a new stick, and after demoing many wilson, babolat, and prince sticks, nothing has lived up to my wilson kzen team. I loved that racket to death, and it helped me improve from a 3.5 to a 5 in the period of about 2.5 years. However, during this past summer, I shanked a ball and my frame cracked. I tried hitting with various frames after that, but nothing lived up to that kzen team, and my parents didn't want me buying another racket. Now, my dad won't let me buy a racket that is being put out of production, even though i believe it to be my holy grail (with luxilon alu power in the mains and sensation in the crosses). So now I'm wondering if the new kzen team http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCWILSON-KZTFXO.html plays similarly. If it does, then I'll have a great stick again.

Many thanks,

just convince him to buy you the kzen team that you are used to. play with what you like, not what is new

I wish I could convince him, but he wants me to get a racket that I can play with for the next 3-4 years...or longer. what to do?...

buy the old kzen and stock up while you can still find them. no point in buying another racquet if you've already found your holy grail.

Yeah, now comes the hard part...convincing him.

I can understand that feeling. Do you play with only one stick?

Even if you do, stock up on the old kzen teams now. They can be had for (relatively) cheap. Usually, if you're convinced a racket is your holy grail, buy enough to last you 10 years. Even if you decide to switch during that time, you'll have no problem selling them off.

If you show your dad that you're completely serious, I'm pretty sure that he's not going to say no. One thing that I've learned is that parents hate wishy-washiness. Be confident.

if you like a racket stick to it, especially when its your holy grail and it took you to a 5.0 position. Check the FS/T section

thanks for all your support, everyone. I'll give him a break tonight and in full seriousness ask if i can buy 3 or so soon. We're selling my apdc on **** soon, so that should take care of nearly 1 kzen team.
