What do numbers like x.y mean when u are talking about gradation of tennis-players in USA? How are they determined? Why there are 2 digits, say player 5.5 ? What is the level of PROs and those who have just began?

It is your rating. You can self rate or I believe you can have a coach rate you but I'm not sure. It is supposed to say how good you are. Now a beginner would be a 1.0 and a pro would be a 7.0.

See the following link to USTA.com...it describes the various ratings:

Probably more like wishful thinking, oh i forgot to add "stop boys ha-ha"

If you believe you are a 4, then your are a 4. That's the way the system works. As you play other fours, you find out if you are a good four or a bad four. If you lose to all fours, then maybe you are a 3.5; if you beat all fours then maybe you are a 5.0.

Haka Boy, I really don't know. There is nothing to irony about. If I lived in USA I 'd know my level exactly. What I read from that site Morpheus advised I have concluded that possibly it is 4.0. Maybe I'm 3.5 or 4.5, but I don't have strong first service so I think it is 4.0.

I see u are from New Zealand, if u are bout 4.0 we can meet at some neutral territory and play. If u are defeated I'll tell u " Stop, boy ha-a ".
