I am repainting my KPS88 and here what is underneath that beautiful paintjob that I chose to destroy. Note the graphite weave in the hoop and the PWS inserts.

What is the new PJ gonna look like? Are you going conservative (Babolat) or super crazyawesome (EXO Rebel)?

Used to see the weave shimmering through the MW200G, so, if you can, allow a llittle translucency in the paintjob and you will get a nice effect - the weave will sparkle through a bit.

Or was all this an effort to make the frame lighter ;)

What did you use to strip off the paint?

I will post pics when I am done but I am going with a basic flat graphite paint scheme. I am using duplicolor wheel/rim I got from autozone. My basic desire was to make the racquet lighter and to create something nobody else has. To strip of the paint I used lots of sandpaper and basic auto paint stripper. It took about two cans of paint and about 8-10 hours to completely strip it. I wouldn't recommend others to do this because it somewhat damages the weave of the racquet and the coupling joints where Wilson joins the upper and lower sections of the frame.

I'm looking forward to your posting pics of it. When do you plan on having it done?

Hopefully, sometime this weekend. I am ordering a new set of grommets and buttcap from TW.

Like I've said all along... very, very similar frame to the PS Tour 90! ... at least as a starting point, take a couple of inches away and add a little weight. Presto

I also dug 5 extra grams out of the pallet/handle grip. This seems to make the entire racquet much lighter. It will looks like ****, but the racquet will still work for me cause I only use a 1bh.

Is this K-Raphite just pure graphite, with no kevlar??

Does anyone know exactly what this new gimmick is?? I love the frame and it feels so much more solid than the original 85, I wonder what this new version of graphite is.

That's the outer braid. From PT630's thread where he dissected a kPS88 it looks like there is Kevlar in the inner braid.
