Well Isner got the win today, but now he has his first real opponent of the Miami tourney.

Does he have a chance?

I hope he wins but i think the final will be 6-4 7-6 Ferrer

He'll have to play serve and volley tennis. He can't beat Ferrer from the baseline if he gets in rallies. Ferrer is going to have a hard time handling Isner's serve especially his huge kicker.

They played once before...I think they played at Cincinnati in 07.

I believe he has the potential to beat ferrer in straights he's really improved.

wow nice to see the optimism, i hope he can pull it off as well. Isner has the tools but lacks the experience. im really pulling for him, since he came from my neighborhood. Not much cept pro Baseball and college basketball goes NCs way.

hes played him twice in 07,, both losses pretty easily for ferrer, i just hope he has improved enough.

Yes, straight set win for Isner. Ferrer's return of serve is too weak. he will not win more than 4 points on Isner's serve the entire match.

Yeah I think the big guy has a chance if he just plays smart and hits some aces.

Ferrer does well returning Isner's serve. I say Ferrer in 2 even though I am going for Isner.

Get into and win 2 tiebreakers - same way as he won all those matches in DC.
