I have been seeing a lot of Vantage 90 & 95 users with different specs. I was wondering if there is anyone who tried the 100 and have something to say about it (what are your specs??). I was tempted to order one, but without a demo, I have some reservation on buying something at US$200+. 2B Honest, I was actually more nervous about loving it so much that I actually have to order some more..... my pocket is not very deep!

do a search under my user name to see a thorough review on a 100. My code is 3,2,1,2,10, dunlop handle. I do recommend it.

Yonexplayer now Vantageplayer:

Your Vantage stick sounds like what I'm looking for--a little shorter and stiffer than my POG LB. How do you like it? Can you compare it to the Diablo MP?

Well z-man to be honest haven't played with the diablo.
Well i can give you details what it plays like ,

It has the power of a babolat pd but it doesn't have the side effects of the pd like elbow pain etc and it has tons more control.Actually you don't need vibe dampner in this racket normally i always use one but this one even at 70 ra don't get any vibes.
Hope this helps.

Opps, hit the button too fast.

I have in my bag two custom code 322107 (100, 16x19, 70, 27, 7 pts/320mm, 11.4 oz) dunlop grip, 4 1/4 and one 321107 (same except 63 flex).

email me.

Yonexplayer makes good points -- I hit with a 100 with 16 by 19, 63 flex, agree the power was PureDrive-like, great comfort without a dampener. Mine was 11.4 ounces unstrung. Lots of kick on serve.

Tommygun, it looks like you have almost exactly the setup that I plan to order (mine will have a 4-3/8 headsize, and a tan leather grip), can you tell me more about your racquet, the one with the 70RA stiffness? A small a review and comparison to other racquets that you have used would be welcome.

Balz,

I haven't really hit with them much, as my customs are actually code 231511, and the 100s I have are a pair of demo's one playtester tried and wished to send back to the UK but RD had them sent to me instead. Having said that, here goes my mini review, for what it is worth:

They are strung with poly mains and multi crosses, and at about 62 (not sure but a little stiff for me), and not as responsive as I'd normally use. I'm probably going to restring them with the VTS this weekend.

Either way, the 70 RA and 63 generated about the same amount of spin, were equally maneuverable, had very similar swingweight and feel. When hitting, you could notice a difference in the 63 vice the 70. I noticed an increase in power with the stiffer 70, but not so much that I couldn't control it. As with most stiffer frames, it felt a little more "boardy" in my hand, but still comfortable. Probably the biggest difference FOR ME was on touch shots, where I couldn't get as good a feel as I prefer.

If I had to compare the 100/70 to something I've hit with recently, it would be the Volkl Tour 8 circa 2002, except it was MUCH better control wise and had a better feel.

Not as stiff feeling as a Prostaff, at least to me. Overall it was a nice frame, although I'm not a 70 stiff type guy.

Wish I could tell you more. I can say lastly that had this been strung with the Vantage string at the standard 58 I would probably have a better review.

Sorry you are in France. If you lived here in Jersey we could have gotten together and hit for a while.

Thank you, Tommygun and Yonexplayer, my ranking in France is -4/6, and I live near Paris, if one of you ever come to see the French open, I can host.

GUY thanx for your review. it's quite informative!!

Yonexplayer, how does it compare to your previous racquet/s in terms of feel and control... PD was not your previous racquet was it?? Anyway, 350grams in a 100s with a 70 flex & 27.5 inch sounds like a lead up PD+!!

TommyGun, thanx for the offer but I am living in Hong Kong ;( I have the same preferance on the 63, too. Can't wait for your more indepth look at your Vantages (after the restring)

Ollinger, Thanx for your response.

Spinbalz, See if you will jump into the Vantage poison b4 ;)

I have a Vantage 100 sq. in., 27.25 in. length and 63 flex. SUPER EXCELLENT in control in groundstroke, overhead and serves. It's the highest control racquet i have used for the past 12 years. Lots of feel and arm friendly too.

This will be my racquet for the next 5 years.

My previous racquets were the following :

Diablo MP, RDX 500MP, Tour 8 MP, T10MP, RD70, Prince Rebel, Dunlop 200GXL. PD+, Prince Warrior, Fisher Pro FT, Hear LM Radical, Head Instinct,
Head I prestige, P7G, Wilson ROK

i'm thinking of a vantage coded 322304 (100, 16x19, 27.5", 70, 11.0 6ptHL)

how does it sound ???
is the weight unstrung weight or strung weight ?????

TommyGun

Weights are unstrung.

Sounds interesting, I'm betting you are a baseliner with a pretty good serve but want some extra pop and spin.

you won the bet. that's exactly what my intension is.
i'd been worryed about the 70 stiffness being too stiff... but i guess it's not too bad after reviewing the comments..
now my concern is the weight and balance......

do u guys sometimes found couple racquets w/ same spec (swingweight, balance n weight) swing differently ?? NXG MP has very similar spec w/ the POG OS, but the way they swing is just not comparable.... does anyone know why ??????

erw325, do you have the one with the 16 mains or with the 18? How is the power of the stick? Thanks!

hey erw 325, thanks for the great info...your specs are almost exactly as I would like so I wanted to ask if you could give a little more info on the comfort factor. Are you finding that your Vantage is more comfortable/arm friendly than any of the other racquets you listed and played with before? Also, would you be able to compare it's comfort to ProKennex 5G? I am currently using the 5G and really like the comfort factor a lot.

thanks for any thoughts you might have, bob

Nyl:
That sounds a lot like the Babolat AeroPro Drive Plus (see below). It also sounds like what I'm looking for (If I ever ditch my POG LBs). I agree that racquets with similar specs can play very differently. If you get one, let us know how it plays...

one thing about Aeropro drive that bothers me is the stability. The sweetpot is below average for a 100sq rac... offcenter hits often got out of control.

TommyGun, Do you have time to sum up you experience with your 2 Vantage 100s this weekend?? Thanks a billion!!
