Has anyone in here ever tried to attempt this? And if so, how did you do it and did it work?

1. Remove grip and buttcap, chop clean, replace cap and grip..
2. Remove grip, but one piece handle, cut, buy a buttcap from a tennis shop or build one up with tape and 4 short nails to hold the tape in place..
3. Remove grip, tape a new butt shorter than the original, and now you have a shorter racket without cutting, so you can go back if needed.

i'm thinking about doing this to my apdc+. I think it's ssimple procedure if you have the tool.

remove grip, staples for buttcap, saw off with a table saw, staple the buttcap back on, put back replacement grip, overgrip and go out and win games.

Does the buttcap fit flush to end of handle?
Will cutting 1" from handle give a finished product of 27" from 28" racquet once buttcap replaced?
I just bought a POG Longbody with plans to go 27" and change weight and balance to POG mid specs.

I did mine. It was hard removing 4 big staples. Make sure you have a sharp tipped plyer. Once staples removed the handle is just a straight long hollow plastic piece which can be cut using a table saw. Make sure you set your table saw precisely. Cut as much as you want and consider the thickness of the blade as part of the removed part. Rather cut less and slowly shave in.

Superglue the cap back.

I basically turned my apdc+ to apdc

Thanks,
My brother has a table saw. I think we'll do a couple of practice cuts on 2x4's.
Any problem getting the buttcap stapled again? Or you just used the glue?
My brother has alot of woodworking tools. He's built several nice pieces of furniture. I'll ask if he has a pneumatic staple gun.

Staples best, use at least 2 that goes in at least 1/4". More is better, also use the glue. Just use a hammer to set staples. PU gun needs power setting, and you're only using a few staples.
You'll find a lighter weight racket with less power.

I'm looking for final specs to be close to POG mid.
I don't understand Prince making the Oversize 5 pts HL when it used to be 10 pts in the 4 stripe version. It's a lot easier to add lead to the head than mess around with the grip(like I'm fixing to tackle).
Target Specs:
Weight-12.1-12.2 oz
Length-27"
Balance-8-10 pts headlight.
If I'm not happy with my efforts I can always send it off to Mr. Bosworth or Mr. Prokes. I used both to customize my current racquets. Head Satellite Tour 102.
I've just missed the feel of POG racquets. 100 sq in seems to be the best fit for my game.
I must have hit 25 demo frames this year. Didn't like any of the new ones save the Prestige Pro. Just too close to my current racquets to switch.
Then there is the handle shape. I played Prince Oversize in college and 1st ten years of league tennis. It's what I'm used to, and prefer.
At worst it'll be a waste of $120 bucks. Drop in the bucket to my past history of gearaholicism.

Initial hit with stock POG Longbody. Nice. Just like coming back home. Played mixed tonight. There was time left and we played another set using the Longbody. The highlight was clocking a forehand return of serve on a flat 1st serve.
I really wish Prince would make a 27" 12oz version in the 100 sq in size, 8-10 pts HL.
I'm dreading chopping the handle so I'm going to play it stock for a while.
(Still thinking about that forehand!)
