How will he do this year on the clay courts. hes gaining confidence each week and his speed isnt a question. What you guys think? personally i think he might show up in some semis and finals this year.

He should do pretty well. He lost in that Mexican tournament against Almagro, but he can finally feel free to slip and do all those crazy things that screw up his body.

I hope he can take Nadal on clay!

He loves to slide so the clay is perfect for him

I can see him winning a few smaller tournaments, and maybe a semi or two at one of the masters on clay, but i dont see him repeating his french open run.

imo monfils has the potential to be the clear 2nd best clay courter in the world , but atm i would say federer still is but monfils has all the attributes that qualify him to be gr8 on the surface.
He is obviously lightning quick , hits with alot of spin(probably the 3rd or 4th most on tour), is extremeley fit . once he can work himself out tactically and get his mental game right i think he can get there

i think a final at RG if he can make the final, granted he has to pull off at LEAST one major upset to get there, would really help people see how good this kid is and is going to be.
He's rubbish on clay - he's lost to Andy Murray before 4 and a breadstick. He also got taken to 5 sets at RG by the same guy - and Murray's the worst claycourter in the known universe.
Only kidding. If Monfils gets his head together and focusses for five minutes then he has a great chance to do well on the dirt.

monfils will get owned by federer.
