Yes they removed it and I agree with it. It was confusing and didn't show any relevant data. At the beginning of the year it was meaningless because the period was too short and towards the end it was too close to the real ranking.

Thank you Batz! :D

I always love to see the race regardless of ranking to indicate me who has been playing better than who this year so far. Can you tell me how you go to that starting from hope page plz

Much appreciated ^_^

You are quite welcome Safinator.

I don't think you can navigate to it from the homepage - just save the address to your favourites instead.

I can't take too much credit - I think it was the poster Seffina who first found the link.

It is actually dead. The link you provided can't be found anywhere on ATP site and the fact it is still buried somewhere there just means they didn't bother to change software to disable it completely.

Here is what FAQ page I left link to says:

As part of our changes to the ATP World Tour, we have looked to introduce one rankings system that is as easy to follow as possible. At times, having two, simultaneously running systems – the rankings and the Race - was confusing and difficult for fans to follow. The ATP Rankings represents the sport’s DNA. It demonstrates both a players standing in relation to his fellow pros as well as his position in the ‘race’ to become the year’s ATP World Tour Champion. For that reason we have removed the separate Race points system. It is still being used for doubles because players change partners during the season and because doubles teams can be at different ranking levels, it is impossible to use the ATP Rankings on their own to determine who should qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. For that reason we have kept the Doubles Race for the 2009 season.

So singles race points are indeed dead.

The Race is its previous incarnation clearly no longer plays any place in the marketing of the game, so from that perspective you are correct. But just as clear is the fact that the ATP ARE maintaining a table called the ATP Race, a table that ranks players according to the points won since the start of the season. So to argue that the race is dead is to argue that black is white, as clearly it is not dead - just different.

I see, good to know we share the same view on trolls.:)

Not disputing the 12 month system, as its quite fair and accurately reflecting players current deserved position according to their performane in the last 12 month. But I still find the race ranking interesting for the simple fact of knowing what each player has achieved so far this year.

The race is dead. Deal with it.

Who cares if the race is dead or not "according to ATP". Apparently many people are still "keeping scores" the way RACE used to, which is exactly I was looking for.

It is irrelevant. Everyone can come up with their own version of ranking and post it on the internet, but the only relevant and important one is one "according to ATP".

Like I said who cares...
