So i have come back into tennis after a bit of a hiatus(couple months actually). Shortly.....my arm hurts. now when i came back into it a couple weeks ago i didn't ease into the rhythm again i just went all out like i usually do and i'm guessing that is where something happened.
I'm pretty sure it's not tennis elbow(had it checked by my pro and my dad ((since he's a doctor)), the pain is ontop of my forearm and outside part of my right bicep muscle. It really only hurts on the inside-out forehand and serving.
i haven't rested it much even though i know i should. I just can't stand not being on the courts playing sets!
any ideas guys?!

For two years now, I have been suffering with the same pain on the top of my arm, it feels like a nerve, and it goes sometimes from the inside part of the elbow all the way to the shoulder. It gets to the point where I cant hit the ball. I have noticed that when I hit, everything stays ok, but when I start playing a set and serving, the arm starts to hurt. It might be that if at one random day I play a match, it doesnt hurt, but if the next day I play and keep putting pressure on the arm and shoulder for constant days, it will end up burning out and no being able to move it after play (it actually shakes very ugly). Tried a cortizone shot, that helped very much, I also started swimming at that time, and the pain was completely gone. No I dont have that much time to swim and the pain is back :(
You should try swimming or checking your serving technique.
Good luck

R.I.C.E.
Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation.
Yes, the first one is rest.
There's a reason you know this and everyone will tell you to rest it, then start out slowly.
Because it makes sense.

....it rained...damnit
anyways the next day I went out to serve again.
did my usual placement drills then hit a few hard flat ones(if ya know what i mean=))
my arm feels fine now.
i'm going to stay off the courts for the next few days and continue to work it out between my conditioning

^^^Great to hear you're better!
You're a smart guy to be doing the conditioning.
No doubt your arm will again get used to the increased serving and play.

argh, sad to say I'm encountering some pain right now as well. I don't now if it's because I switched racquet or not.
I've been playing with the i. prestige forever and then switched to the microgel prestige pro and hit with it for about a month and switched back 3 days ago. ever since I did that, my hitting arm is hurting. I don't think it's tennis elbow... because it's not at my elbow, it's above it!
looks like I'm going to be out for this week :(
