Suprised this thread hasn't been created yet (if im not mistaken)...

How much do u spend on everything i.e racquets, restringing/strings, balls, clothes, shoes, travel, court time, coaching etc

I'm a student at uni and spend about 500.

I spend about 1/10 of my fly fishing habit.

I probably spend more restocking my liquor cabinet and beer fridge each year.

Figure a couple racquets, pair of shoes, OG's, string...maybe $500 annually. I own 6 fly rods that cost as much or more than that, each. Then there's the travel costs to fishing destinations, etc...Tennis is cheap to me by comparison.

One of the great things about tennis is you don't have to spend a lot of money when you first start playing - or even later.
I probably spend the most money on shoes, and then on strings, now that I've come to the conclusion that another new frame isn't going to dramatically improve my game. (Although I would easily part with serious money if ...)

I'm assuming that is mostly travel costs?

The fact that I'm a student and spend way too much money on tennis each year is a little sad...but then again, its my addiction and whenever I have a racket in my hand there's nothing in the world that can bother me. Besides it could be worse...I could be spending it on crack.

For any serious player, especially junior $1,500 is a pittance.

$1,500 a month isn't even a lot for a national tournament playing junior.

There should be many more categories.

I should have stated that the thread is mainly for players like me - love tennis as a serious hobby but its not their part/full-time job. :)

This thread is to see how much people are willing to spend on tennis even if they don't get any significant amount of money back from tournaments and sponsors.

Well from last April until now my grand total is around 1200 US dollars:), 6 sticks, 4 pairs of shoes, 2 bags, lots of apparel, strings, grips etc. I buy from anywhere as long as it's the best price I can find lol.

I would say about 2000 a year.... I string racquets for quite a few people and i'm pretty sure I break even. Buying a good stringing machine is the best tennis decision i've ever made!
