Article from The Daily Telegraph:

The European clay-court season starts tomorrow at the Monte Carlo Country Club, and Any Murray has recruited the specialist help of Ale Corretja, who was twice a finalist at the French Open.

This year, there is increased hope that regular coach Miles Maclagan and Spaniard Corretja, a former world #2, can help make Murray into a genuinely dangerous opponent across the clay of Europe.

"I think i can play well on clay," Murray said. "I used to play very well on it when i was younger. It takes time to get used to the surface and that's why it is good that Monte Carlo is not a mandatory event as won't have had a lot of time to prepare for it."

I need to get used to it again, get used to the different sorts of skills needed on clay which you dont necessarily use on hard courts."

It will be interesting to see if Murray can upset a few critics.

A good move by murray. Shows a hunger and willingness to learn and adapt as much as possible. Federer, are you listening?

That didn't last very long, nor was it full time while it did. I enjoyed the tone of your post, though. Unproductive, but amusing.

When Roger says things like, "I don't believe in working on weaknesses" clearly he could benefit from the attitude of relentless improvement shown by some of his younger peers. His current poor play is evidence of his unwillingness to adapt. I truly hope he does and goes on to break sampras record, but that will require a serious change of mentality.

Nice move by Murray. Corretja should make for a good coach. He made a lot of great results with the game he had.
