When your crosses break first? A lot of people seem to always break their main strings first, but I have not once broken my mains first, my crosses always go first, about every 3-4weeks. I serve pretty fast play often, consider myself a 4.0+ Thanks!

Do you use identical string and tension? It could be that the mains become looser than the crosses because they are longer.

If you're using hybrid stringing with the poly on the mains, then yeah you'll break the crosses.
And if you hit flat, you'll probably break crosses pretty often too.

I have this happen all the time if I use multi or recently a hybrid. I can understand for the hybrid but I've never understood it for multi. Strange but happens.

This is a good question. The (rare) times I have used a full poly job I have broken it probably 2 out of 3 times on mishits (normally while receiving a serve) near the frame and the crosses have gone, often several at a time.
I've seen a lot of multi's break the crosses in the sweetspot. I think this is because as the mains get notched, the crosses get frayed. I guess some strings fray worse than they notch.

That's true actually thinking about it, they do seem to wear differently.

first time? or this happen often?
if it's a one off, I'd chalk it up to a weak point in the string. perhaps from a mistake made by the stringer or product flaw.
Do it two more times and then I'd consider what strings you're using.
quick aside: buddy of mine uses Babolat Addiction. It ghosts if you sneeze on it; and at every cross point it's white. By the time he's done with the stringjob, it's frayed at every cross point as the string digs in. He likes it high tension. Prediction: cross or main will go within a week. And it's the string.
