View Full Version : Who's the best SLIDER on tour?

S H O W S T O P P E R !

In both men's and women's tour, who has the best slide on all surfaces? I would say Monfils because his hardcourt slide is insane, but Jankovic has been a sgood slider too.

And if you're wondering why I made this thread, it's because I came back from White Castle and got some of their signature burgers (and I want your opinions) :)

Nadal's sliding on clay is the best ever!!

Obviously Nadal. You can't be great on clay if you're not a terrific slider!

Monfils amazing at sliding he will show us soon enough how to slide on grass like a champ.

That's why Courier is not one of the greats on clay!

Did Lendl slide much? (serious question)

well, he did win 2 french opens and was a runner up for one. He might not be one of the greats, but its safe to say he was pretty good on clay.

He was good but he wasn't one of the greats. Vilas won 46 tournaments on clay, Muster 40, Nastase 31, Borg 30, Lendl 28, Nadal 23, Wilander 20. Do you know how many clay tournaments Courier has won? 5!

Nadal's the best clay court player, but far from the best slider. Monfils has him beat by a country mile when it comes to sliding.

I agree. Case in point:

On the other hand, Nadal can sometimes slide pretty well himself on hard-court:

Hey that's fun but that's not even on clay. Monfils's sliding is spectacular but it is less efficient than Rafa's. It's also wrecking his body big time. It seems he's gonna have to skip RG this year...

Coria was fantastic at sliding. One of the smoothest and most fluid footworks I've ever seen, specially on clay.

Oh come the **** on...does Nadal have to have everything?

Monfils is KNOWN for his sliding it's as much of a trademark as Nadals asinine asspicking

His nickname is the Sliderman for ****s sake:evil:, it's on his damn wiki page

GaŽl is nicknamed "La Monf", or occasionally "Sliderman" due to his unusual sliding technique, especially on clay surfaces.

No one said Nadal sucks at sliding, Monfils slides good on Hardcourts so obviously people are going to bring him up.

Why does everyone think Monfils' sliding is dangerous for him? He has never been hurt sliding. His current injury is a flare up of an injury from childhood. It's a knee problem that's related to a childhood bout of Osgood-Schlatters, it wasn't caused by sliding

The Sliderman obviously xD

Just hope his knee issues calm down in time for RG D:

Lol at all the Nadal-fanboys claiming Nadal to be a terrific slider.. Nadal doesn't slide much for a true clay courter.. not nearly as much as clay courters used to slide..

I would have to go with Nadal over Monfils. Monfils slides farther and more often than Nadal but the timing is usually not that good and many times he slides when he does not need to. Nadal uses his slide to benefit more than others.

best of all time? Muster. The guy slid 10 feet on any surface, clay or hard

Nadal_Freak

Nadal is a smooth slider. It's hardly noticeable because he is so balanced while doing it. Monfils will slide farther but that doesn't mean better.
