Agreeing with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal was in favor of a new ranking system. The Serb, who gave up his third world place to Andy Murray despite winning a title in Belgrade this weekend, found that the current ranking - which takes into account the results of the last twelve months - is cruel.

"Finalist at three consecutive Masters Series (Miami, Monte Carlo and Rome) and a 250 win in Belgrade is an unbelievable performance. And yet, I lost a place in the standings. This shows how the current system is cruel. Federer or Nadal have won four or five Grand Slams yet they won no point, nothing "complained the new world’s number 4 "A ranking based on two years would be much better," said tNadal in his turn.It would help us be more relaxed. And in my case, it would allow me to extend my career.

I used google to translate it.

Do they have a point here?

I remember back in 1999 when Sampras beat Agassi, winning his 6th Wimby. The next morning(monday when the rankigs came out) Agassi took over Sampras' place as #1.Kinda weird.
