How many times did I say that Federer would beat Nadal in their next meeting due to the curse? Don't ever doubt Rickson again.

So according to your curse, Rafa's free from the curse now because Fed took advantage of the curse one match too soon.

This is why Fed didn't want to play Rafa until the FO. So the curse took place where it matters.....

Rickson

Yes, the curse is now over for Rafa so if he beats Federer as usual, it'll be no surprise. Unfortunately for Federer fans, he used his ace in the sleeve too soon.

If Fed meets Nadal at the FO final (big if, despite this having happened 3 years straight now), Fed should have a new strategy ready. Whether he decides to use it to start the match or as a backup strategy won't matter. The point is that Nadal will probably figure out a way, or practice certain shots, that will make Fed's BH-to-BH strategy which he used effectively in the Madrid final much less effective. To some extent I do agree with the OP, Federer kind of showed all of his cards too soon. Unfortunately, it's either that or use an unproven strategy for the first time in a critical, GOAT determining match, so it's a tough call either way.

I didn't say Federer would beat Nadal at the French, I said he'd beat him if it's their next meeting after the AO and now we know that's not the case. It's anyone's ballgame at this point. I will say that if Federer gets 13 wins on Nadal, he'll lose their very next match due to the curse.

How come this curse doesn't work for Roddick?

but Fed already broke the curse of 13? he gave it to nadal?so I think now they are 50-50 even.. It's going to be an interesting FO.. Due to Nadal is the last guy who received it, he might not make to the FO final this year.. yes you are right 1 thing, the curse of 13 is very strong.. I don't want to believe it but it is..

Rickson

Not only is the curse of 13 strong, it has a huge psychological effect on people. Federer's been reading this message board and he knew he was destined to win after he read my posts on the curse.

How many times did I say that Federer would beat Nadal in their next meeting due to the curse?

About the same number of times that you predicted that Federer would win several of the past French opens (which he did not) and the number of times you'd predicted that he'd win all four GSs in a year (which he did not.)

Don't ever doubt Rickson again.

If I doubted you every time you said something, I'd still be right more often than wrong.

Giggs, Roddick is not good enough to let the curse work in his favor.

By the time Fed gets the win no.13 over Nadal they both might be playing in the seniors tour and nobody would care who'd win the next meeting. But of course I'll try to follow the result just to see how good you are.

Hey Rickson, if you're never wrong, I have a couple of questions. Will Djoker or Fed beat Nadal? Which side of the draw will Djoker end up on? Will Djoker and Fed duke it out? Who will win the duel? Will Djoker beat Nadal?

Rickson
05-19-2009, 07:03 AM
I didn't say I was never wrong. I said Nadal had the curse of 13 working against him. When Nadal beat Federer for the 13th time, the curse fell upon him. Now that he lost, the curse is over. Unless Djokovic has some kind of curse working in his favor, I can't tell you whether he'll win or not, but the safe answer is probably not.

Was Djokovic not good enough to have the curse work for him? Nadal beat him the 14th time in Madrid.

LOL. I think it has more to do with Fed having 13 slams, not having beaten a top 4 in 13 attempts since the USO final and the current H2H of Fed and Rafa being about the same number of slams they have right now....

I hope you're right. That curse of 13 was awesome. I was hoping Rafa lost before the French, but now that I put it all together. Let's see, Roger used his win right before the French and usually he goes on a drought after that, am I right?

i don'y know where or how you get this stat. afaik, federer lost only 7 consecutive times against the other top 4. that's after the beating he gave djokovic and murray back-to-back at the us open.

Well anyway, if you can't answer my questions, whatever. But do you have any more predictions? :p.

Rickson
05-19-2009, 06:44 PM
You see, I was guaranteeing Federer would beat Nadal due to the curse and it already happened. Understand that future predictions will not come with a money back guarantee like the last one did. There is no curse on either one of them anymore. I'll go with Nadal and Federer in the final once again. I don't think I can go further than that at this point. I will say that I'm just about guaranteeing a Federer victory for Wimbledon. This one you can take to the bank.

Rickson

No curse? Have you even read my previous posts? Almost nobody believed Federer would win his next match against Nadal even though I guaranteed it would happen. Not only did it actually happen, it happened on clay of all surfaces. No curse, you say? You'd better think twice, my friend. The curse of 13 is very strong.

Yes Rickson, I believe in your curse now! So that's why Nadal lost, it had nothing to do with his game. That's good to hear :)

It was all curse it you think about it. Easy draw for Fed, exhausting SF for Nadal, Nadal not happy about tournament from the beginning, ...
