Comeon now. So who here dug the pink shirt? What do you think his reaction was when someone handed him a pink shirt to wear? Does he have any say over what he wears?

Nadal likes pink, he's been wearing for ages.

In the interview on the blog he said that the shirt he was going to wear tomorrow (that's today's match) is one of his most favorite outfits ever. Go figure.

IDK, to see the gladiator Nadal, the number one player in the world, and one of the most accomplished players in the open era wearing some little prissy pink polo is kind of embarrassing to me. He even played poorly today. That is a sign to go back to manly colors.

Federer's is awesome too. Anything is better than that black sailors uniform he wore last year and the green lantern look for nadal.

In a fit of emotion, nadal should rip off his sleeves right before the start of the final. It would be awesome. (Nike would ofcourse design the shirt to do that... so it would totally kick ***)

I seriously don't believe when someone handed him the shirt he thought, 'oh hell yes! And yellow?! I am going to look good, I am going to look so good(,no?).'

As for the pink, and all these bright colours, they are in fashion at the moment.

Ok fair enough.. als het als grapje was bedoeld had ik eerder een ;) of  verwacht.. vandaar mijn opmerking. Achter mijn opmerking had ook wel een ;) gemogen. Zo serieus bedoelde ik het ook weer niet.

I actually thought the stigma had been broken over the last few years. I think 1 or 2 years back Nike had another pink shirt. I saw that shirt quite a lot on the tennis courts. And I see men wearing pink shirts with business suits a lot these days.

I was thinking that psychologically, seeing Nadal across the other side of the net must be quite intimidating for a lot of players; but the pink shirt kind of negates that. It's like, deep down inside, you just automatically believe you can beat a man in a pink shirt. It will prove to be his undoing.

He looks like a circus clown. And that's coming from a huge Rafa fan. That is the cheesiest and gaudiest costume I've ever seen a man wear on a tennis court. Neon pink + neon yellow with a touch of neon blue? An eight year old girl would have enough sense and taste to put it back on the rack. The good news is if tennis doesn't work out, he can always get a job as a stunt double in the next Wham video.

Exactly. It's like one day i was playing pickup basketball outside and we had this guy on our team wearing workboots, jeans, and a sweater. He looked like he had just put in 10 hours of hard labor at a constuction site. He was the last one picked but he was the best one on the court. Quite frankly the other team was way better than us (I suck at basketball but love to play anyways) but we still won cause of that guy. No one wants to lose to someone who looks silly. To this day it's the only time I've seen someone slam dunk in jeans.

I always thought Nike's goal was to use the pros to get the public to wear their shoes, apparel, accessories. If that's the case, I think this outfit will be a failure. And, if it isn't, heaven help us. I REALLY don't want to see 50-year old pudgy men in pink out on the public tennis courts trying to channel their inner Nadal.

I really loved Nadal's Nike stuff from the time he came on the tour through last year.

Not so fond of this stuff in 2009...at all. Horrible!

Didn't mind seeing it either, again why not? One gets rather bored seeing so much of the same boring stuff, especially that grey or puke green junk.

Only a gorgeous guy can look good in pink and the shirt looks becoming on him. The Pink Pather on the prowl for his 5th title. I think it looks good. Definitely bold and that's what Nadal is...on court that is.

I agree. I had a problem with it initially. Shock, of course. But when I saw it against his tanned skin, all was forgiven. I like him in bright, vivid colors.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but I think it's in support of breast cancer. A few weeks ago all the Nike golfer's wore pink, Red Sox used pink bats and I think Fed has a pink swoosh on his head band.

Hateosexuality is a better way to explain it. Feminine colors plus hated player and you get a comment like that. Sad this has become another Nadal bashing thread.

Nadal is obviously very comfortable with his manhood. He's got Xisca anyways. He doesn't care what people think. He does what he wants. People using the pink shirt to bash Nadal are pathetic. It happens in many threads. Why are you defending the bashing?

Have you looked at the popular color of men's ties lately? All pink, purple, pastel...

what are you talking about defending? i was reading and laughing at the thread then i hit your post which made no sense, asking why nadal would have to be brought up. to me it seemed completely obvious why he would be mentioned in this thread. i think you are getting overly excited about a freaking shirt and people clowning on it. if i wear overalls and flip flops out tomorrow ill catch hell, why shouldnt nadal. is he above being goofed at for doing something dumb?

everyone has an opinion and many and in your case many many many, people will not agree with yours. i think pink is a terrible color for any man to wear. its my opinion, and im sure some share it. as im sure some wil agree with you.

He/she never said she was. I think she's pretty and has a smoking body but what does what she looks like have to do with Nadal being comfortable with his manhood?

Nothing.

I actually like Nadal's outfit... and I'm the biggest Fed fan around. :)
The pink goes really well with his olive skin tone.

its not the pink, its not the yellow, its the pink and yellow and some red on his shoes.

one loud color is fine and dandy, but the rainbow effect is to much for any skin tone.

I think it's a pretty cool combination.

Plus I hate to say it but there must be many many people out there that agree and like it as well otherwise you can believe Nike would never have come out with this outfit for Nadal.

And the yellow is subtle... it's not like it's half yellow half pink. The yellow is the secondary color. It's nice.

ok im not talking bout just the shirt, the shirt alone is fine, but the bold yellow bands on the head and wrist is what makes it so loud imo.

In related news, Rafael Nadal has shot a commercial for a pharmaceutical product donning the Nike ensemble he sported in this year's French Open. Nadal's line in the commercial goes like this "Nausea, heartburn, stomach upset, diarrhea, Robin Soderling, YEAY Pepto Bismol!".
