Looks like he might be using the Storm afterall... It has the woofer grommets and the paintjob looks detailed enough around the throat...

Since the trend seems to be lighter leaded up frames, it looks like a pure storm to me. Babolat has a sound reputation for not having so many PJ rackets. My hitting partner uses that frame with some lead in handle and 3/9, very solid flexible head frame with some lead.

well, it could be a storm...or it could be a Pure Control.

The specs (with regards to appearance) are practicially identical in terms of beam width, head size, length, etc...

throwing a PC racquet in the pure storm paint booth (or whatever is used to paint the graphics) would be very easy i imagine.

Are those Big Banger Alu Power strings?

Those appear to be BB Alu, yes...

if it's a Storm, why would babolat paint it to look like an older model (albeit one that is still on the market)? if he really changed, wouldn't they keep the Storm paint to try to promote the new model?

You mean the MP? Gonzo's look in all aspects like the stock Storm team version to me...

I'm pretty sure gonzo is using the PC with a PS paintjob. Babolat probably trying to promote the pure storm racquets....

i'm pretty sure that gonzo is using the PC, just a paintjob over it. PC and Pure Storm shape is very similar. PJ should be easy to do.

I've just came back from Chile (short vacation) and at a Tennis Club in "Las Condes", the pros said that F.G. is using still a PC with a PJ PStorm. Sweet....

I live in Chile and always watch Fernando's matchs :D I was in ATP Viņa del Mar and I think he uses the Pure Control Team Plus with Pure Storm PaintJob because the racquet looks longer (27.5 in) than Pure Storm (27 in). I read a chilean tennis magazine (Feb'07) and some guy asked Fernando for his racquet: what racquet are you using now?, and Fernando answer was: "the same I use always". I'm sure he uses the Pure Control Plus, that racquet is perfect for his long swing style ;)

why would you lead up a lighter frame when the heavier ones are around

because you can put the extra weight in all the right places, i assume.

Definitly a storm. No question about it. Why would it be a pure drive?

For sure a PC +, strung with Alu Power. PC and PS are the same mold! So you can't go for "what it looks like". But he used a PC + before and there is no PS + until now. Also nothing in his specs changed: weight, balance, stiffness - so it's a PC+.

Jura, what do you mean there is no PS + until now? Is bab coming out with an extended storm? Also i know you've hit with the new cortex APD, other than the dampening from the cortex is it pretty similar hitting to the old apd?

No no, I don't know anything about a PS +. Sorry if my post was confusing.
Apart from the more dampening feeling the new APD isn't similar to the old one - it's the same!
