i'm a student at UT, hook'em, but i don't know anyone who likes to play tennis or who is good enough to help me improve. i'm not very advanced but i'm continuing to improve and love tennis. just seeing if there are any other UT students who wouldn't mind playing some.

Hey Will, is that you? (just ignore me if it isnt)

I second what he says... you should definitely come check out the UT Tennis Club. You can find more information @ www.uttennis.com .... also, we have a facebook group.

i am now a UT-austin alumni headed to medschool.

dude,
you dont have to join the UT tennis club. everytime i have been to the courts, they are readily available. it is not hard to find tennis players on campus of 52000 students.

i have my tennis buddies, many i met while going to the courts solo and finding people to play with. its a very good way to make new friends.

i am sure tennis club is great, just didnt wanted to pay excessive membership fee.

i also didnt join the UT marathon club because they wanted me to pay $25/semester just to have access to run with others. needless to say, i have plenty of running buddies too, many of them who run in the UT cross country team :)

what i am saying is that dont limit yourself to just the club, because the majority of student wont join these organizations...

just my $0.05

I just recently moved from College Station to Temple to finish up medical school, but spend most weekends in Austin. I haven't played much tennis in the past couple years since I started school but have really been wanting to get back into it. Would love to meet some people from around the Austin area to start hitting with again.

Haha. Yup Gig 'em Aggies! I'm not that big of an Aggie since I didn't do my undergrad there, but my dad and grandfather both went to A&M.

A&M.. ugh.

If any Longhorns.. or any Austinites want to hit in early May, I'll be going back to my hometown for a couple weeks. Lemme know.

what would you say your rating is?

mmm... I bounce around the spectrum, but 3.5-4.0.

I can hit. My strokes are sound. Sometimes I don't move my feet that well. Movement is my biggest problem. Though my serve is in a sort of transition phase. In other words, it sucks right now.

My friend won doubles in state at Westlake back in the day, and I rally toe to toe with him.

Before I started school I was around a 4.0-4.5, but after not playing for a couple years...no telling how bad I am now haha.

I'm a solid 4.0 player who sometimes plays at UT (Penick Alison courts). Let me know if anyone is interested for practice.

I'll be staying at Austin's downtown Courtyard on Sat April 2nd. Let me know if anyone wants to hit that afternoon. I'm a 4.5 interested in singles, doubles or just doing drills. Feel free to drop me an email: Alrutzfamily@att.net
I'm a pilot on layover so we'd have to play within a few miles of the hotel since I won't have a car.

Cheers
