I think Soderling will be a threat but not a contender at slams

I don't see enough consistency or mental strength in the guy to be a serious consideration at slams. I think he is like those players who have had hot streaks - Gonzales , Verdasco etc but don't look like they would convert at any point.

Good enough to take the best player out on his day. Not good enough to show consistency long enough to win a slam.

Karlovic, Verdasco, Gonzales, Berdych , Soderling etc. Always a threat but never contenders.

I do hope Verdasco proves me wrong though.

imo, his type of game poses more problem for nadal than for federer.
