Why do people think his movement is poor ?

http://youtu.be/Od_7c6eD1Qk

Yeah, you've got a point. His movement is not remarkably bad.

But, it's not remarkably good, either, for men's tennis, where movement (offensive and defensive) has to be at an incredibly high level.
Put that clip side by side with a clip of Rog or someone really light on his feet.

Grigor's movement is a little bit laborious by comparison.

That said, I'm a fan. Sweet one-hander. great strokes. Willing to play defense and offense. What's not to like.
Allez Grigor!

saw him play against tim smycek yesterday night. Imo Ryan and him both just have to work on their mental game. If they lost a heartbreaking point, they'd end up acting really immature and lose that game or such.

that BH needs some serious work. Tsonga pounded it at Wimbly and at times it looked like it was barely being floated over the net. Not quite top 20 ATP level bh yet, at the moment.

IMO.. the biggest thing right now for him is to put on a solid 10-15 pounds of muscle..hes way too skinny.

He beat llodra 7-6 in the third and lost in the next round to tipsy 3&4.

why not Gulbis, who has had better results lately?

anyway, let's see him make good use of it

Federer was in just before grigor was out. There was huge difference in movement and serve, two most important things.

Then his forehand seemed much slower, only the backhand is at par.

It would be years when he would be at par with today's federer and by then the tour would have moved much ahead.

Another bad draw for Grigor. What do the rest of you think?

I think he has the tools to wreck havoc. With Maria not playing (not in new york?) could he be more mentally stable? Really it's all mental, his game is that good

I think dimitrov will give djokovic damage and trouble in US open.

he will win Major in 2014.

I hope, but realistically I can see him going deep in Wimbledon with a good draw.

Dimitrov has steadily improved and risen in the rankings every year and he started 2014 with another step up the ladder by making a slam QF and playing a match against the top player in the game in which he could have won with a few critical points going his way. So, not only did he post his best slam result, but he showed that he was ready for the big moment and believes that he can beat anyone on the court with him.

Of course, in this day and age since he didn't crash the top 5 and win Wimbledon prior to turning 20 he was an overrated failure.

The talent is undeniable. The days of teenagers dominating the game are a thing of the past. The fact that he has improved his game and ranking every year is noteworthy. He has the confidence and belief necessary to be great and now he has noticeably improved his fitness/conditioning which has always been his biggest weakness. That, and his strength, should only continue to get better as he nears his physical prime.

I think he is a future multiple slam winner whether that happens in 2014 or is still a year or two away. His time is coming, assuming he stays healthy of course.

I think he is likely to be at least a couple of years away from coming into his prime, so any successes this year and next are laying the foundation for bigger and better things. I'd love to see him win a slam this year. Either way, I hope he can crack the top 8 and make it to London.

he played almost perfect against rafa. if he can keep this good work up, i see him in a GS final this year.
i also think his game suits the clay court very good. look at his great high topspins...then hitting a harder flatter ball to end the point. this is perfect claycourt tennis.

Give him 1 year of fitness improvement under Rasheed, and the dude will be a monster to handle
